Kapitel 7: Group 1 vs Group 2 II
A few minutes before 9:30 am.
Coach Johnson signalled for the teams to take their ready positions. All the players on the pitch had conflicting emotions, they were excited, nervous and tense at the same time. This was the single moment that could define their career.
After a minute, Group 1 was chosen to kick off the game. Luke Harper and Joel Bolton were already standing in the centre circle next to the ball.
Most of the scouts had already begun to move closer to the field to get a better view. Most were get their notebooks out, and others were recording with a camera.
Coach Johnson looked at his watch before looking towards the kick-off. He later nodded.
*FWEEEEEEE!*
Kick-off!
Joel passed it back to Luke, who passed to a midfielder. The front three started to make runs, giving options to pass the ball. Freddie Mercury stopped the ball and saw Alexander Francais was making a run from the left. Instantly he hooved it up, then Alexander beautifully controlled the ball and skipped past Jeff Freeman who was the right back.
Fortunately, Emmanuel covered Jeff, he had used the high-level positioning and spatial awareness skills, which he got from Xavi. He had been practising him defending against Tommy, at least once a week. A hint that he discovered from analysing defending, he should not make the first move. As a result, Alexander tried to knock it past him. Emmanuel stuck out his toe and pickpocketed him.
The counterattack was on.
Emmanuel had started to dribble forward in open space and saw Tommy shook off his marker. Running at a high pace, he played a low through ball, that could have cut through butter.
Tommy used his touch to touch into space and ran to the opposition's box. He had a picture of what he should do, he moved the ball to his left foot. Trying to bent the ball into the far bottom corner, the ball went inches wide of the post. Tommy was annoyed that he missed his first chance, but Emmanuel gave him a thumbs up for his effort.
Emmanuel was surprisingly calm for the first twenty minutes, during which he would find pockets of space, drop deep sometimes and dictate the pace of the game.
In the twenty-fifth minute of the first half, Freddie had made a foul on Tommy. It was a wide indirect freekick, which they entrusted to Emmanuel. An idea popped into his head on want to do.
Coach Johnson blew the whistle, signalling the green team to take the freekick. Emmanuel put out a superb cross with dip, curve and power where Tyler Hector had got past his marker. With a huge jump, he planted a header past Jackson East into the top right corner. They all huddled up, high-fived each other and praised the excellent finish and cross.
Luke Harper picked up the ball and rushed to the halfway line, hoping to exact revenge.
Harper and Joel Bolton were standing in the centre circle next to the ball again.
*FWEEEEEEE!*
Kick-off!
Joel passed it back to Luke, who passed to a midfielder. The nervousness from Group 1 had disappeared, furthermore, they oozed with an aura of revenge.
Rapidly, they passed the ball to Luke who was surrounded by Cade Hunt and Morton Kain. But he played a one-two with Lucas Oiler. After, he flicked the ball over Bailey Ryan's head and used his pace to get in behind. Clinically, he placed the ball bottom left, past the goalkeeper.
*GOALLLLL!!!!
As Luke walked back to his half," Let's see you do better," Luke commented to Emmanuel with a smirk on his face.
"Challenge accepted," Emmanuel responded.
The goal had lit a spark in him, his pride didn't let him backed down. He wanted to show everyone he was the best talent on the field.
Like a captain, he gathered up his teammates, and Emmanuel spoke," Let's play free-flowing football and make sure they don't penetrate our defence."
A few minutes later, the whistle blew at 30th minutes.
*FWEEEEEEE!*
*Halftime Break*
We all got into a hurdle and discuss how we will defend better and get that winning goal that will put us ahead. Everyone decided to change the formation to a 4-3-3 Attack.
Goalkeeper; No. 1, Cade Roberts.
Right-Back; No. 2, Jeff Freeman Left-Back; No. 3, Bill Howells
Centre-Backs; No. 4, Mason Bourn. No. 5, Grant Hutches.
Centre -Midfielder; No. 8, Cade Hunt. No.10 Morton Kain -> No. 17 Georgie Love.
Attack-Misfielder; No. 6, Emmanuel Gompel.
Left-Winger; No.11, Rowan Paul. Right-Winger; No. 7, Tommy Perri.
Forward; No. 9, Tyler Hector.

A centre midfielder was subbed on since Morton Kain was tired.
Tommy and Tyler Hector. were standing in the centre circle next to the ball.
*FWEEEEEEE!*
Halftime Kick-off!
Tommy passed it back to Georgie Love, for his first touch of the ball.

It was the 38th minute, the match was in deadlock. Both sides had had chances, but they couldn't put it away. It was group 1's corner kick, Luke Harper and Mason Bourn had battled for the header.
Unluckily for group 1, it fell to Emmanuel with his B graded pace, he raced down the field. He took a big touch to knock it past Ben Franklin and continued at a terrifying speed.
A defender had caught up to him and stopped Emmanuel in his tracks. He faked cutting inside, then hit the ball with his heel, taking the outside root. With his left foot, he chipped the ball to Tommy who was in the middle.
Tommy had rushed from his box to get on the end of the chip. Using two legs to push up from the grass, he steadied his body and used the side of his head to power into the bottom left corner. The ball passed the outstretched arm of Jackson East.
*GOOALLL!!!!*
Tommy ran into Emmanuel's arms as if he scored the winning goal in the world cup final.
"Thank you, you are my best friend," Tommy whispered into Emmanuel's ear.
"Nah, you worked hard for that goal, besides you ran the whole field for the goal," Emmanuel complimented.
As they walk to the halfway line, Emmanuel looked Luke in the eyes then looked away. As if he taunted him with words.
