Darce watched with horror. The words she spoke still rang in his ears. With the words, she said, Darce finally realized why she was acting like this. He never pictured her like this. This is the sickness a young cadet would fall into after his first kill.

‘But why now? Why is she having this effect now?’ he thought as he watched her afar.

He could not approach her without being cautious of her state of mind. He could hear her voice. Rosa stopped her shaking and strolled; her hand was clasping something invisible. He saw her walking towards the small made-up bridge on the long river beneath their feet. Darce watched in horror as she walked in the middle of the bridge with a wobbling body.
