“I’m afraid to ask what’s in the folder,” Tansy said as she stepped back toward the main part of The Murky Cauldron.
Mark held up the folder, staring at it a moment and shaking his head. “Yeah, I wish I came bearing better news,” he said, dropping the folder back to his side before Tansy reached him. “I did some digging into some old cases, cross-referencing with what you told me about this Warren kid. Seems a little over two years ago, there was a rash of strange murders, most resembling Warren’s. There were also reports of people’s landscape shriveling up and dying, mostly around businesses, but a few residences, as well.” When Tansy reached him, he handed her the report. “I made a copy, so you can keep this.”
“Did they ever determine the cause?” she asked, taking the report and opening it, so she could scan the contents.
