Kapitel 54: Mail Delivery

The marble floors were very clean as well as smooth as if they were cleaned more than ten times a day or maybe more. Underneath the floor were several plants that had grown, displaying their charm as well as fertility, which were visible from above.

The wind waves were like tides, infiltrating and also entangling every majestic pillar. Various beauties were etched on the ceiling, on the walls, and also in every corner.

Various kinds of light were displayed outside, at the front of the palace. The guards stood tall as if they were statues, shrouding themselves in armor as well as weapons such as spears and swords.

Werden almost hit the main post, which stood not far from him. A bottle containing Hamdi's message almost slipped from his tight grip.

He cursed himself. "You stupid! Why don't I just put it in my pocket?" A pocket was in Werden's trouser, which would lock any important items inside, with no risk of getting out of it, unless a great shock struck.

His feet were like skating. His arrival from the direction of the message reception room had been anticipated by Advos' chamber guards, royal advisers, and confidants of the king. Werden could not give a message from Hamdi to the king directly. Everything had a procedure.

"I have to meet with Advos. Hamdi, an Elipsis pilot, has sent me a message about Prince Aerus. This is important!" said Werden breathlessly. Even on a fairly cold night in the Hexodar Kingdom, he could still sweat quite a bit.

His duty outfit, which was dark with a touch of sapphire blue and red at some of the seams, was now soaked with sweat. Especially the golden hair. Werden looked like he had just finished dipping his entire head in the water.

"Tell me the contents of the message!" ordered one of the door guards in Advos' room. He's tall and burly body almost even injured the armor he was wearing, or maybe the other way around. The armor he was wearing seemed to have shrunk dramatically or perhaps his body had swelled up.

It was enough to make Werden wince because none of the guards had the wrong size clothes. They got the right size. If there was a change in body size, the armor would follow the size of the person wearing it. It was one of the very common technologies in the Hexodar Kingdom.

"I can't show the contents of this message because that's the rule. Are you the new guard?" Werden's eyes became extremely sly and suspicious. None of the guards asked about the contents of the message brought by the officer receiving the message. Usually, they'd just ask for a general outline, then ask for the task number engraved on their arm, confirm it with a tool, and they were done.

But neither of those procedures were performed by the two guards. And that made Werden even more suspicious. Just what could he do? He couldn't even be so good at fighting. He was an Elfagos who had a fairly weak physique. The only power he had was his brain waves. With those brain waves, he could fight, using the power of telekinesis.

The two guards standing in front of Werden looked very relaxed. They couldn't even help but put on boring faces, the typical expression of noble chamber guards. Even so, Werden remained vigilant.

"I did what I was taught. And I was never told if there were any new rules so you questioned the status of my working hours." The chambermaid's weapon was still on standby as if Werden could just break through and wreak havoc and fight.

Even though Werden did not have the time and energy for that. He wanted to get back to his post immediately and then rest or sleep. In the past few days, he had been getting unfair work time, due to a co-worker who had to take time off.

Things like that usually happened when the Scutis Star emitted light at its peak, which was called the peak of the mating season.

Werden massaged his head, and once again he asked for permission. "I have to meet with Advos. I have a message I must deliver."

The gatekeepers were silent for a moment. One of them took out a device like a scanner, only it was smaller and thinner, so it would fit between his fingers. "Your assignment number?"

Werden rolled up his work clothes and exposed his left forearm. There was his assignment number. The assignment number would never be visible to the naked eye. Except for Elfagos who had it, and also for the scanning tool used as a check.

So we could be sure the security is 100%, and maybe more.

A scanner beeped, followed by a soft green glow. Even when the scanner beam hit Werden's forearm, no number could be seen anywhere.

Those who wanted to steal data, then they had to work even harder.

"Pass. Please come in!" said one of the guards, as the door swung open.

Werden entered somewhat suspiciously, and also uncomfortably. He still glanced at the two guards outside Advos' room, but he didn't have enough evidence to accuse them. After all, he could never understand what he was trying to accuse.

A room had surrounded Werden. The room was quite dark, with the floors coming from the Rock Trapes. Rock Trapes could melt quickly if exposed to just a little high heat. Then Rock Trapes would easily freeze if they got the opposite temperature.

Rock Trape was often used for room security, as they could easily catch criminals and intruders unless criminals could maintain their body temperature when tense.

So far Werden could jasmine the Trapes Rock floor. He was quite tense but not overly. At the end of the room, there was an open funnel, which contains a large amount of ejecting energy.

If Werden touched a rock next to the funnel, the throwing energy inside would activate. The energy was surging and twisting, and passing through several spiral tubes. Eventually, the ejected energy would escape through the back funnel, and through another room, hitting another button that would direct it to a device in the bed.

The device would activate, stinging Advos by jerking it to the bottom of his subconscious. Don't ask how the technology is possible, because the complexity of the Elfagos' technology won't be adequately explained in just a chapter in the story.

It took quite a lot of time and paragraph lines to go through, and it's ineffective.

Werden grabbed a bottle containing a message from Hamdi. He gripped the object while standing at a spot near the empty wall.

As his eyes began to droop from sleepiness, a tall and thin Elfagos figure suddenly walked through the wall, came out, and faced Werden.

"Werden, what's wrong?" That was Advos.
