Kapitel 148: Distraction

"Do you want to take a walk, Prudence?" Vincent extended his hand between them. The tension that he had created was broken by him. Prudence's guilt was simply making her have a softer reaction to his behavior. She had already come around and her giving her hand to him showed it quite evidently.

There was barely any resistance. At least on the outside. She still found it tough to accept to be close to him. 

He led her hand to give her direction and let go of her immediately. Prudence felt a little tug of insecurity when he did that. The Mafia king was truly a playboy. He knew well how to play the game of a woman's heart. 

Prudence looked at him but he had his gaze, ahead not paying any heed to her concern. 

She let go of the thoughts in her head and looked around. The greenhouse was filled with different flowers and trees. Lady Lillian had brought Prudence around but had explicitly mentioned there were a few cherished plants of rare origin here.
