Ellie
The ceremony was a blur.
Ellie had never imagined she’d get married in the first place so she’d never given much thought to what it would be like to stand up there in front of everyone and say those intimate words to a man, especially one she hadn’t truly gotten to know yet.
But as she stood there, staring into River’s eyes, repeating the words that the priest told her to say, she could’ve been rattling off a recipe or listing the names of the plants that grew in the woods around them. She wasn’t paying any attention to what she was saying, not even a little bit.
It wasn’t that she didn’t mean them; she absolutely did. She was promising that she’d give this man everything she had for the rest of her life. That wasn’t something she took lightly. It was just… everything around her seemed to get lost in the whirlwind while she and River were lost in one another. They may as well have been getting married in the eye of a hurricane.
