*BOOM!!**CRASH!!*
The sound of the cave entrance exploding, and rocks falling onto the ground, could be felt from miles away, as the largest living creature in Equestria ripped through the rocks, blocking the Ursa from squashing the ant that woke her up from her hibernation...
She slowly rose up onto her feet and roared deafeningly. Had the cave been only a little closer to the town, everypony in Ponyville would have heard it clearly, but as it were, most would not pay attention to the far away sound, or the tremors caused by the destruction of the cave entrance...
Starfall was currently running from the falling debris in a state of mild panic.
'Shit, Shit, Shit, Shit, Shit, Shit, Shit!!!' He thought slightly ashamed of his thoughts. What would Fluttershy say?...'It's not the time for that Starfall! You have bigger problems than your cute Marefriend ashamed of your cussing...'
*CRASH!!*
A stomp of the clawed feet barely missed Starfall who jumped to the side in time as his pupils dilated...That Bear has claws longer than his body!...
Starfall sighed to himself, while dodging another attack by teleportation.
He could easily run away from the Ursa. But who knows what would it do afterwards. He didn't want it to attack nearby towns after it couldn't find him, or anything of the sort. What if it's roar already scared some animals into rushing out of the forest...
*Sigh* He really did it this time...He should have been quiet when collecting those fragments...
The over one hundred meters tall Ursa Major looked around in confusion as it couldn't find Starfall, before finally spotting him hiding behind her.
Without a pause, her attacks continued as she turned aroun and tried to grab him with both her paws, a little reminding Starfall of a cat.
The resulting tremor, made Starfall almost stumble as he teleported away from the blast zone...
_________
In Ponyville, a group of three fillies and a dragon tried their best to save their snowpony from another smaller but still noticeable tremor...
Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon seeing their struggles while passing by, decided to come and help them, and the group instantly grew into six...
They will save their Snowpony!...
_________
Starfall had been dodging the Ursa for over ten minutes and he was starting to feel bored...
No really... You'd expect the largest monster in Equestria to pose an exciting challenge for the Stallion, and that was the case at first, but the Ursa didn't know any other attacks than stomps, swipes, chomps, and similar physical assaults, which Starfall could read and dodge with relative ease. It was actually much easier than his obstacle course, something he was quite proud of to be honest. That was after all the purpose of his training. To make it much easier for him to act during a real emergency.
Though it still didn't change the fact it was a bit disappointing. He wasn't even using much of his Stamina or magic!
Though there was a slight problem with that approach... The Ursa wasn't using much Stamina either, showing no sign of any exhaustion... They could probably continue this cat and mouse game for hours, but Starfall wasn't willing to do so, believing that in the end he'd be the first to exhaust himself, or he might make a mistake that could cost him an injury or worse...
And frankly...He really needed to test his magic on something that wasn't a practice target...
A small smirk slowly appeared on his face as he stood there, watching the Ursa attack him with her clawed paw from above.
What he was trying to do was a very stupid move...but he wanted to see...He wanted to prove to himself that he wasn't weak...
*BOOM*
The paw impacted the place where Starfall was standing, a large cloud of dust blocking the vision of who ever was watching the fight.
The Ursa snorted, ready to turn away from the squashed ant, but just then the smoke cleared away, revealing an unharmed Starfall surrounded by a spherical barrier the attack only pushing him over a meter into the ground...
And there was another thing that would have infuriated the Ursa had she been able to see it from this distance...The Stallion was grinning...
"Well... that's more like it..." He mused dispelling the barrier and jumping out of the hole, The Ursa already back in the offensive, ready to strike even more angry.
Starfall knew that he was going to be embarrassed later, but the words left his mouth before he could stop himself...
"Let's dance!"
A paw impacted the ground beside him, but the Stallion not only dodged it, but jumped onto the arm of the Ursa Major and run up it's limb, sending a concussive blast of magic at her face.
She was going to be a great punchin*cough*-training partner...
________
"Hold the reins Silver Spoon! We can't let him fall!" Called out Scootaloo, trying her best to stop the large Snowball from crumbling as the others did the same by pushing the snow from the sides or bringing more snow to seal up the cracks...
"Don't lose hope Everypony! We shall emerge victorious!" Exclaimed spike righteously from atop the snowball.
"Spike! Get off the ball and help!" Scolded him Sweetie Belle, causing the dragon to blush and laugh awkwardly before joining the white coated filly in pushing the snow...
__________
If someone were to visit the Southern region of Everfree forest, they would have met with a number of unusual phenomena...
For one, the slight tremors passing through the ground almost constantly, followed by an earsplitting roar, and all the animals that were running away from the epicenter...
Then you'd see a lot of light flashes, as beams of energy impacted a small mountain, from time to time causing it to shake violently.
But if you got closer, you'd understand that it was not a mountain...It was actually, a humongous purple bear!
It's body was partially transparent and resembled a night sky, but it was very much solid...and currently very angry...
Starfall spent the last twenty minutes, casting a plethora of different spells on the Ursa. Because of its size and magical resistance, no simple spell could really affect the giant bear, but it wasn't like the Stallion wanted to finish it quickly.
After testing his smaller spells, while utilising levitation, teleportation, and his agility, to dodge the bears attacks, Starfall went for his stronger arsenal. Exploding spells, lasers, concussive blasts...Those were the spells that really affected the giant creature.
But as he thought about all this while floating with magic, his magical hiccup suddenly distracted him, letting an unexpected claw attack swipe him from the sky.
It was only his magical barrier, and a few protective trinkets, that made him get out of this situation unscathed, as he slowly crawled out of the hole he made during the impact.
They looked at eachother, the Ursa slightly battered and bruised, and Starfall breathing a bit heavy in exhaustion from his offensive...
Starfall sighed. He could probably end it if he went for the kill, but...
"I guess there's no other way..." He muttered looking at the Ursa and waiting.
He didn't need to wait long as the large clawed paw fell towards him.
When the Ursa lifted its paw up, it noticed a large red stain on the ground and no sight of the annoying bug...
Finally, She emerged victorious. It was just a shame she couldn't take it for a snack...
__________
Starfall watched as the Ursa crawled back into its cave from a nearby hill, feeling slightly sad for wasting a bottle of his favourite tomato juice...
But then, he noticed the smaller Ursa Minor getting out of the cave before running excitedly around its mother, and the stallion couldn't help but smile. They might be considered monsters by others, but they are just living beings in the end.
Before long the two bears walked back into the cave together and disappeared from view...
Starfall watched the Cave for a while more before turning back and leaving towards Ponyville.
___________
As The stallion walked down the street towards his home, he noticed a familiar group of fillies and a small purple-green dragon, all of them sticking their heads out from a big pile of snow, and laughing their hearts out.
He decided to just shake his head in fond exasperation and continue on his way to the Library...
___________
Reaching the Storage area of the Lab, Starfall approached an empty pedestal.
He slowly removed a container from his saddlebag and proceeded to clean the sole reason for today's excursion with a number of spells, before placing all the cleaned up pieces on top of the pedestal.
Another spell activated the pedestal, which caused the pieces to float up and settle in a somewhat correct setting, as a see through barrier spring up around them.
He watched the pieces slowly spin in the middle of the barrier, quite mesmerized by his newest toy/research material.
He was a bit sad for the previous owner, but until they actually meet, there was no reason for him to feel bad for taking it...
It wasn't every day you saw a broken horn of a unicorn after all...
