Kapitel 10: Papa Let’s Ditch That Ugly Old Emperor~

Prime Minister Bai was overjoyed. His daughter had called him papa after so long and to him her voice was as if the heavens had blessed him.

He was in his own world, and he felt like he could see flowers blooming around him, and doves singing to him.

He was in what could only be called a drunken stupor.

Meanwhile the emperor was panicking. Only he and a few high ranking officials knew which people were trapped in that particular prison and they all knew that this was a bad sign.

The emperor was too busy to deal with Prime Minister Bai or the cave creature right now. He and the guards rushed toward the burning prison to find out what exactly had happened.

Bai Jingfei grinned at her father and held his arm with both of her hands.

Prime Minister Bai couldn't help but feel sad about the tiny size of Bai Jingfei's hands and was even more determined to buy her the most expensive supplements he could find.

"Papa let's go home" whispered Bai Jingfei pitifully, "I'm already tired."

Prime Minister Bai only had illogical thoughts floating in his head. All of them were related to his lovely, cute, perfect daughter. Quite a few of them were things Bai Jingfei would protest about if she found out.

For instance sending her to the temple to cultivate her body with the monks.

Or feeding her nourishing but bitter tonics.

Snapping out of his stupor he walked back to the carriage with Bai Jingfei and proceeded to go home, ditching the emperor with his flaming bonfire.

The emperor would later realize that Prime Minister Bai had left somewhere along the way and remained awestruck …

After all, the polite and professional prime minister had never left without telling him.

As soon as they reached home Prime Minister Bai walked Bai Jingfei to her room and tucked her into bed, telling her she had had a long day and that she should get some rest.

Bai Jingfei fell asleep almost instantly. She had overexerted herself and was exhausted.

She couldn't help but think of Song Yongrui. But every time she thought of him she thought of the gleeful moment when they set the prison on fire…

She lay in her bed, tossing and turning trying to think of any Song families in the history of the kingdom but there hadn't been a single one in the book she had read.

Even the Bai family had been mentioned in the book alongside a couple other major families, but there was no mention of a Song.

Bai Jingfei refused to give up though.

If there was one thing she was good at as a professional troublemaker, it was not giving up. Even if someone were to shoot her in the head with a cannon it was highly likely that Bai Jingfei would get right back up and shoot them.

And then die of course.

But she would bring the other person down with her without fail, even if she had to rely on unscrupulous means.

Meanwhile in the main hall of the Bai family residence, a short old man was sitting under the framed picture of a lady that looked incredibly like Bai Jingfei, but wasn't as short, flat or thin.

It was her mother, Wang Lifen.

One would naturally assume that prime minister Bai was mourning, but instead he was in a hurried trance, looking through piles of pamphlets and catalogues advertising medicines and tonics of various sorts.

Each potion looked more disgusting than the previous, but prime minister Bai didn't care.

If he was looking for something tasty, he would be buying Bai Jingfei some sugar candy, not some nasty, puke-inducing potion.

He went about ticking every third- sometimes every second- nourishing tonic off of the catalogues.

Halfway through, he called the butler to place an order in the largest medical store in the capital, and perhaps the whole country, the Jade Medical Hall.

Along with the pamphlet, prime minister Bai produced a large sack of what could only be money. After handing it over to the butler with firm orders of what and what not to buy, prime minister Bai finally leaned back on his chair, sighing.

He began to do his work, slowly opening different documents and letters and reading them carefully.

Once in a while he would pause and stamp documents with the Bai family insignia, the raven.

Or a crow, it's hard to tell… At the very least it's a bird.

As prime minister Bai worked his way through the piles of documents, he uncovered an envelope with the raven on it.

There was only one person this letter could have come from, his only son who was currently studying in the best academy in the country, Bai Liu.

It contained news of wishing to see his younger sister, and heading home right away.

Prime minister Bai was overjoyed, but in his eyes was the same gleam that Bai Jingfei often had. He too was up to no good.

Yes.

Prime minister Bai was not happy because his only son was returning, but because he could dump his work on Bai Liu and accompany his daughter around the town.

Somewhere far away Bai Liu sneezed, unknowingly.

Prime minister Bai casually pushed away the stacks of documents now knowing that he could unload it on his son.

The study he sat in was extravagantly decorated, with paintings of a family of four covering the walls. There were two conspicuously large paintings among them, one of Bai Jingfei, and one of her mother.

Piles of documents extended past prime minister Bai's head, but prime minister bai was a rather short old man. There was also a window behind the desk from which prime minister Bai often threw out documents he would get pissed off because of.

Speaking of documents, on his table lay a letter that looked ordinary to most.

If Bai Jingfei were to see the letter she would be stunned. Not because of its appearance , but because of the name signed in tiny letters in the corner.

It was signed, "Song Yongrui".
