Kapitel 99: Chapter Ninety-Nine

The bus sputters to a dead stop, wild murmurs spring up as usual, but I'm curious as well. A frown mares my face as I try and fail to make out whatever is going on at the front of the bus.

The sun has long since fallen, but unlike Xoxia where the temperature lowers with the setting of the sun, there's only a slight decrease in the wave of heat we've felt all day.

We've been on the long broken road throughout the entire day, little stops here and there to use the bathroom, or rather side bushes. And now we sit at the side of the road, still no other vehicles to be seen and with nowhere to go but the lights.

The lights.

I tap Jane awake, she fights me but I pinch the sleep out of her and she wakes with a scrunched up, unsatisfied look, "Jane, get up, I think we're here." I urge her.

The Driver has long since stepped out, he's at the back fiddling with something now.

"Aah!" A piercing scream streaks through. "He's got a gun!"
