~~~(POV: Scott Autumn)~~~
I take a seat on my couch, and the TV turns on with a command from my voice.
The gaming news channel is on, and it's doing an interesting take. "A major development has happened in The Aeternus Universe. Guilds and player-made companies in-game are now having to actively compete and defend against each other as well as NPC's." This is not all that surprising.
Despite the size of The Aeternus Universe, it's full of competition. While the galactic market isn't solely driven by materials, it's a vast part of the market.
This is causing a huge increase in competition. Credits rule The Aeternus Universe, and gathering materials is the quickest way to get enough credits to fund a guild or company.
Companies that have been around a long time in The Aeternus Universe aren't liking all these new competitors. "The Galatic market is at an all-time high for all minerals and materials. This is causing a massive inflow of new players and emerging features of The Aeternus Universe." The reporter isn't wrong. The Aeternus Universe is constantly growing.
My main concern should be the attention Immortalitas is going to bring. It's the largest ship I know of, and I've memorized all known starships in The Aeternus Universe. The message about good luck is making sense now.
If I take it into a system with players or NPCs, trouble will soon follow. Nothing can compete with it in terms of firepower and defensive capabilities.
That adds more fuel to the curiosity that is Immortalitas once it's discovered. Not to mention its massive size and status as a Primordium Dreadnaught.
Anyone with an advanced enough scanner can find out its basic information, but those aren't cheap, and they won't be on every ship.
I can upgrade the ship more in the areas of scanning defense. Keep its information hidden. "There are also reports that an incredible increase of bounty hunters have emerged on Empyrean." I can assume it has something to do with what's going on between Durado and Teller-Bravo.
It's concerning, I know Durado isn't the only legendary bounty hunter out there, and others might be coming for him too.
Having Immortalitas gives me some comfort, but we can't take the Dreadnaught everywhere.
It's not something I planned on having, and the many strategies and plans I've already come up with for Immortalitas and its role in our journey are based on its weaponry.
We're going to need it when we enter the Gord-Prime system. It'll be the single reason we get there and out alive.
It's completely owned by Teller-Bravo and is one of its most secure and private sectors. I turn off the TV and lean my head back. The journey hasn't even started yet.
Durado and I have many things left to do. He's going to be busy interrogating Larzacks for a while. I don't know if he can hold out longer than Ziller, but he's probably been trained in resisting interrogation.
As I'm staring up at the ceiling, I hear footsteps coming from the hallway.
I tilt my head as it relaxes on the cushion, and I see Jess making her way into the kitchen. "I was wondering where you were. How have you been?" Jess looks out of the kitchen and towards me. She must've not seen me on the couch.
She smiles and fixes up some food. "I was playing, and I made some friends. I've even joined a guild of some pretty good players. Once we raise enough capital, we're going to turn our guild into a company." That's how upgrading guilds and companies work.
You have to start out as a guild, and once you raise enough money, you can upgrade and create a company. There are more after that, but it will be a while before anyone gets that far.
No guild or company has reached that point yet, so there's no information on it. All we know is there are areas beyond that part.
