Kapitel 27: Her Story

"My mother is dead by the way" Lilith smiles as she says it. A bitter smile. A smile so phony and strained.

I don't really know what to say or do. I just look away from her and continue staring at the floor and let the silence accompany us.

"My mother gave us the emerald when she was about to leave for the next world" Lilith decides to break the silence after a second of peace.

"It was a long ago, when we were twelve. We lived in a small village, north of the capital city. Just a small village with an approximate population of fifty or so" she stares at the floor, immersing in a distant memory "Father brought the news of some men visiting our village. And that's when the trouble began"

She exhales a long sigh, probably a sigh of melancholy. She smiles at me, as if assuring that she's alright, before continuing her story.
