Kapitel 296: Chapter 295 – The Assassins

"Do you really want to kill Minister Naja?" a soft voice asked. It was a mysterious voice, sounding feminine and elegant.

The four assassins immediately drew their weapons.

"Who's there? Show yourself!" the fourth assassin – the self-proclaimed younger brother of Minister Naja – shouted.

"You won't be able to see me," the voice said gently.

"Show yourself if you don't want to die!" the assassin yelled.

The voice simply chuckled softly.

"I can't see anyone at all," the first assassin muttered, looking around wildly.

"I don't see anyone either," the second assassin said. "Could it be – could it be the consciousness of the inherent magic of the Obsidian Kingdom…?"

The third assassin frowned, but didn't disagree with the second assassin's guess.

"It's just a disembodied voice," the first assassin said reasonably. "It could simply be someone hiding under a magical cloaking spell and trying to frighten us."
