Kapitel 310: On the list

Within the village of Winterwells, police chief Jack Walter was now walking with the elders to the court round. Despite his constant requests to not attend the trial as he was on leave, the elders had asked him to accompany him. His extra efforts to not do that had the elders suspicious as well. 

Jack Walter's father was one of the elders and fortunately, he had not sensed what the others had sensed. 

Madilyn Hooper was wheeled on a lavish and sturdy wheelchair. When they had reached the court she turned to Chief Jack, "Cheif can you please help me up the stage? It would not look good on the other elders' part to do that." 

Jack turned to his father who smiled at his son.
