Kapitel 4: Chapter#04

Dara hurriedly got up from her bed and took out her drawing pad from her bag. She tried to remember the face of that boy whom she saw in her dream but couldn't. "Why can't I remember his face?" she thought. She remembered everything about her dream except for his face. "Was that actually Wade?" her eyes filled with tears when she thought this.

She closed her drawing pad and gasped, "That was just a dream after all." She got up from her bed and went upstairs for her breakfast. "Good morning everyone." she entered the dining room.

"Good morning sunflower!" Stephen greeted.

"Honey, come to have some pancakes," Ellen called Dara.

Dara sat on the chair with a pancake on her plate. "Ummmmm…" she expressed, "These are extra delicious."

"How are you feeling today honey?" Ellen asked.

"I'm good Mom." Dara told, "Just had a crazy dream last night."

"Well, I'm glad you're not imagining things today." Greg smiled.

"Imagining things?" Dara inspected.

"Have you seen someone again in your room?" Greg asked.

"No…no, I haven't." Dara looked confused.

"We told you not to overthink and see today you're absolutely fine flower," uttered Stephen.

"Ye…yeah! I think so." Dara gave a mock smile. "That was all real. I wasn't asleep." she thought, "No this can't be true." Dara was so confused. How could this happen? "I think I really am overthinking."

After finishing her breakfast, she got up and went to her room to get ready for school. She still couldn't remember the face of that boy. She opened her diary and started to write;

"Dear Wade;

Last night was strange. Yesterday, I kept on seeing a boy. I fainted. When I came back to my senses, he was there. It was you, Wade. It was really you. But the next morning when I woke up, I found it to be a dream. When I was at the table for breakfast, I came to know that I had actually fainted and that I actually saw someone in my room which my family told me I was imagining. All that felt so real but it also felt like a dream. I can't remember the face of that boy but I know it was you. Well, today is my first day of school. Wish me luck. I hope to find you today love."

She put her diary back to where it was and got up to brush her teeth. While brushing she thought of the dream she had. "This is so confusing." she thought, "What if it actually was Wade? But why can't I remember his face?"

After brushing, she went back to her room towards the closet, "So what should I wear?" As on her first day of school she had to look perfect. "I think this shirt will look perfect." She wore a dress shirt with a pair of blue shorts. She put her brown wig on and made a ponytail with the fringe of the wig resting on her head. "I still do look like a nerd." She gasped while looking in the mirror.

"Dear are you ready yet?" Ellen gave her a voice from upstairs.

"Yeah, Mom I'll be up in a bit," Dara replied and grabbed her backpack. She moved out of the room and suddenly remembered that she had forgotten her mirror in the room. She rushed back to her room, grabbed the mirror, and ran towards the gate while uttering, "Goodbye Mom! Goodbye, Dad! I love you!"

Stephen was at the gate in his wheelchair waiting for Dara. "O sunflower I like the new look." They both hugged.

"Well, I hope everyone does." Dara smiled.

"I'm sure everyone will." he smirked, "So excited for your first day?"

"As excited one can ever be."

"Hop in the car young lady and best of luck for your day."

"Thanks, granddad. I love you!" she hugged her grandfather and got in the white limousine.

Her school wasn't far from home. She reached there in about ten minutes. The car stopped in front of the school gate. She took a deep breath and gasped, "A new beginning."

There were a lot of kids there; black, brown, red, all colors. When they saw the white long car stopping in front of the gate, they all stopped at their places and started to stare. As Dara's grandfather was the richest on the island, all the kids wanted to meet the new student who belonged to Garland's house.

Dara opened the door of the car and stepped out. As the bullies never stop, a kid kicked a soccer ball at Dara but as she was fast in her senses, she managed to catch it. Students were shocked at the stunt. Dara moved a little further and turned to her left. This was where the ball came from. She moved and walked towards the student who threw the ball.

"I think this belongs to you." Dara showed him the ball.

"It wasn't me," he replied.

"I know it was you but anyways if you don't need it I'll just throw it away," she uttered and turned around.

"Okay I'll take it." the boy said from behind. He took the ball from Dara's hands and murmured, "Weirdo."

Dara didn't like it. "I need to be in my attitude and pretend not to care." She moved further. Her eyes got caught on a guy wearing a black mask. He had black eyes and hair. He was a smart tall boy standing alone and not bothering to even look at anyone.

"Hey there!" three girls came to Dara.

"Hi!" Dara replied.

"Are you from Garland's house?" one of the girls asked.

"Well yeah." Dara told, "You see, Stephen Garland is my grandfather."

"So you live in Garland's house?" another girl asked.

"Yeah!"

"But why haven't anyone seen you before." the first girl asked.

"I just came two days ago from Chicago," Dara told.

"Oh I almost forgot to tell…" one of the girls spoke, "I am Sitara, she is Miranda and she is Sarah."

"I'm Dara by the way. It was nice meeting you people." Dara spoke and moved inside the school building. "Hmmm…where can I find my rack?" she thought.

"Need some help rich lady." a boy spoke from behind.

Dara turned around. There was a lad standing with dark curly hair and freckles. "I need to find my rack. It'll be a pleasure if you can help," she said.

"Follow me." the boy started to move. Dara moved beside him. "So you came here from Chicago?" he asked her.

"Yeah, but how'd you know?" Dara got shocked.

"You were telling to some girls outside. That's where I heard it," he told.

"Hmmm…"

"So here's your rack." the boy stopped and pointed to Dara's rack. "Thank me later." He smiled and winked at Dara and moved away. "By the way my name's William," he said in a loud voice from behind, "But you can call me Will."

"I'm Dara," she told.

The school bell rang.

"Meet you at lunch break gorgeous." he winked again and moved towards his classroom.

Dara went to her class too.

"Class she is your new classmate named Dara Garland. I want you all to be nice to her and show her around." the teacher introduced Dara to the class. William was in the same class and so was that boy which Dara saw standing alone outside on the school ground.

"What's the matter with this guy. Why can't I sense what he's feeling?" Dara thought. She got a chair just next to that boy because all the other chairs were full. "Hey there, I'm Dara." Dara showed her hand to shake. He only looked at her and ignored her. Dara held her hand away and started to focus on the lecture.

"I need to find Wade." she thought, "But how am I going to find him?"

After some long periods, the bell rang. It was the lunch break. Dara went to the recess room.

"Hey there, beautiful!" William waved at her, "Come sit with us." He invited her to sit with him and his friends. Dara went there. "This is Stacy, this is Lenny and this is Sabrina." he introduced his friends to Dara, "And guys this is Dara. She's new here."

They all talked but Dara seemed absent. "What's the matter?" William asked.

"Nothing." Dara mocked. Her eyes got caught on that boy again. He was walking through the recess room. "What's up with him?" Dara asked.

"He's just a Jerk. Try to stay away from him." Sabrina told.

"Have you seen my brother?" a girl walked in their talk with a photo of her little brother.

"Get the hell out Ashley. It's been a week now and no one could find him." Lenny spoke.

Dara took the photo from Ashley's hands. "I bet he's dead somewhere." William snatched the photo and gave it back to Ashley.

Dara could feel something. She could feel that she knew where Ashley's brother was. "I know where he is." she stood up and said in a loud voice. The whole room went quiet. There was silence in the room and then suddenly everyone started to laugh.

Dara looked at everyone and felt ashamed because of them laughing at her. She ran outside the room and William ran after her. "Dara stop!"

"I need to go to the toilet." Dara lied.

"Okay girl. I'm waiting in the ground." William told her.

Dara continued walking. There was no one in the hallway. Suddenly she heard some footsteps. She followed the voices. It was that boy with the mask again.

"Listen," Dara called him.

He looked at Dara and started to walk a bit faster.

"Stop!" Dara ran after him. She got hit by Ashley. "I…I'm so sorry." Dara apologized.

"No, it's okay. I was the one in a hurry." Ashley replied.

"Can I see your brother's photo again?" Dara asked.

Ashley showed Dara her brother's photo. Dara could see visions appearing before her eyes. She looked up at Ashley and said, "I want you to believe what I'm going to tell you. I think I know where he is. Where ever he is, he looks scared. We need to find him quick."

"But how'd you know?"

"I don't know. I just know things. Well, does it matter? What matters is that we have to find your brother as soon as possible." The bell rang. Lunch break got over. "Meet me at my house after school and I'll help as much as I can." saying this Dara went to her class.
