Kapitel 11: Chapter 13
"Now I wanna let you know that from here on out, it may not be safe for you, for a while. 'Cause as soon as I start poking around Quinton and his crew, he's going to know that you said something to me." Lucas says to me while looking on the road.
A small sigh left my lips, "I know and it's not going to be any safer not just for me, but for you too. He threatened me the last time, telling me that if I told you anything he was going to harm you and that there would be your blood on my hands." I turn to face him, "Look, I know what I was getting myself into when I decided to tell you about six months ago. What you do there after is gonna either help us or kill us."
He nods his head, "You have a point there, so tell me, what's the plan from here on? Do you need protection?"
A small chuckle escapes from my lips, "No, if that happens he's going to know straight off the back that something is up." Lucas furrows his eyebrows, "He's crazy but he's not stupid. Trust me, he'll know if I show up with the cops standing outside of my house."
"Well then what? I'll take care of everything else on my side with the law. With this new information we're going to nail this son of bitch."
"Oooh, Son of bitch. This tough side of you," I turn my head to face him, "it's sexy."
A hint of blush graces his face, he lightly pushes me, "Stop it, you're making me blush." A small chuckle escapes from my lips. There was a comfortable silence between us on the way back to Orange.
He drops me off in front of my apartment, "Look if anything strange happens around you, make sure that you call me okay?"
I nod my head, "Okay, I will. Thank you Lucas for hearing my story." A sigh escapes from my mouth, "Truly, thank you for your help. We're going to officially catch this bastard and nail his ass to the cross."
"Now, who's turning who on with the tough talk?" A small smirk plays on his lips. Just as I'm about to open the car door, he leans in to place a kiss on my cheek, a small gasp escapes from my mouth, "What was that?"
"For having the courage to come to me. It hasn't been very easy for you, these last six months. But fear not, for you I'll make sure that he gets what's coming to him."
The tears begin to swell in my eyes a little, it's the first time other than threats seem so real. Oddly enough he kind of reminds me of Aquila with that swift act of justice. No— I shouldn't be comparing him to a dead man, if it was to flatter me, it's damn near workin'. There he goes, sweepin' me off my feet and I barely know the man, I gotta stay on my toes Saturday is right around the corner can't be so easily charmed. "You know Lucas, you really know how to charm a girl. Thank you, between you and Fei trying to keep me from losing my damn mind out here, you guys help me out. Thank you." I lean in to lightly yet firmly place my lips on his cheek and I make a swift exit out of his car. He watches me walk through the front door of my apartment.
I opened the door to my apartment and there Fei waiting for me she said eagerly, "So, how did it go? Quinton didn't catch on, did he?"
"Actually it was pleasant, he even dropped me off at home. You know Lucas is a real charmer." I say walking into my room by the front door. She follows me into my room, "I think that I sense that you're starting to really like him."
"There's one thing I forgot to tell you."
"Oh my gosh, what?" She says furrowing her eyebrows.
"Lucas asked me out on a date for Saturday night and on that day he wants to tell me why he officially started talking to me."
"Officially started talking to you? What the hell does that even mean?"
"I don't know. Apparently it's extremely important that he feels the need to tell me what the real reason is. Honestly I'm extremely curious to wanna know why myself."
"Good luck. Well, while you were gone I prepared dinner. I made general tso chicken with rice and steamed broccoli and no MSG."
Changing my clothes, "Ooooh, I get a full course meal. Thank you for your friendship and the awesome sisterhood that we've developed here, together."
"Yeah, of course. Girl you're my bestie and my sister forever." A small smile takes over my face. "Now, I wanna warn you, since I told Lucas about six months ago, things are going to get a little dangerous around here."
"Girl, I will not let that psycho push me out of my own home. So I will not go anywhere without you." I truly am a lucky girl to have an awesome friend like her in my life. As crazy as things are about to get her and Lucas are staying by my side, no matter what maybe going on in my world.
A small smile creeps its way to my face,"You know how did I manage to have a down ass bitch like you in my life?" After I put on my clothes I wrap my arm around her shoulder.
"Well at some point you and I were meant to cross paths at some point. But we're lucky to have each other in our lives. That's definite." We walk out of my room and into our kitchen slash living room, Fei walks over to the stove and turns off the steamed broccoli, rice and eventually the chicken. She turns around to face me while I'm sitting on the couch and she says, "Dinner is ready. Time to chow." I nod my head hoping off the couch and with quick strides I'm standing by the stove with a paper plate in hand getting food.
"I'll see you and Fei tomorrow, with y'all fine selves." Oren says walking towards the left and I'm walking towards the right. "You're such a perv."
A small smile appears on his face and he says, "And here I thought that was something you guys liked about me."
Shaking my head while rolling my eyes, "In your dreams, okay?"
"I gotcha, get home safe okay." He says to me as a final good night.
"Yeah, you too." I turn to the right, continuing to walk in my direction. Putting on my headphones and playing "Night Sky"by J Min. A black car keeps driving around, perhaps the person is lost and maybe I'm only telling myself that because it's easier to say than to admit--- I'm a little worried. I think to myself, behind me with each step I take it's like someone is catching up to me. To be honest, stopping isn't even an option for me. Suddenly a hand clamps down over my lips pulling me into an alleyway and a small vasp escapes from my throat.
