Kapitel 9: Four is A Crowd
"Alright Doc give it to me straight. How long until they wake up?" Gwen had just given the failure four a check over and said they were in all sense of the word healthy. Ben was the biggest issue to deal with however giving him a bracelet with the function to filter out cosmic energy allowed us to finally break all that rock off of him. Viltrumite knowledge is OP as hell.
"As of now they can wake up anytime between tomorrow and next week. Its already been two days so now its up to them to wake up." Gwen explained to me.
Its been a few days since Overwatch went live and The four have been unconscious this whole time. The groups have been making teams and relaying around the world helping in everything from robberies to avalanches. I let them design their own costumes but each one has a belt with the Overwatch badge on the belt.
I Based the badge off of the Plumbers badge from Ben 10. Each one hosts it own mini supercomputer that can access and control anything with a computer. It also serves as the key to our warp tech. The badge also has another function thats a secret to all except me and Shuri.
Natasha walks in with a man in Anti-meta cuffs i prepared. They shut off the connection to the hosts X-gene. "Arsonist crazy guy was going around burning down small villages om the premise of Mutant Superiority. Thats the fourth one this week. This brotherhood is extremely dangerous and everywhere."
Nat is tired i can see it. Everytime we take care of 1 red dot. 2 more pops up. Fucking Hydra, A.I.M., even a few Inhumans. They all have a hand in this. Even though the Overwatch is constantly moving taking shifts always having someone active, Its too much.
So its time to expand. Luckily i found a few heavy hitters worth getting. Laura was the first to succerd in bringing back her target. Hisako Ichiki Codenamed Armor. She has some training to do before shes up and ready but shes here.
The others are still working on recruitment. Laura comes up to me and says "Theres a guy named Phil Coulson upstairs. Says he has an appointment with you. I glance at her and she simply nodded.
I turn to head to the elevators with Laura on my Right and Domino sneaking in from somewhere on my left. I look at her with a quizzical look and she just shrugs and replied "What? Everything is more fun around you." I shrug her off paying attention to the now invisible Nat standing in my shadow. Damn she really is a perfect assassin.
Walking down the hall i pass by Shuri who begins to follow me as well for these new recruits. Honestly i was against the idea but Cho told me that he needed more capable hands. Him and Shuri could only do so much and with Gwen now being a Super Spider she spent less time in the labs. I thought about getting Peter in the loop but Spiderman hasnt shown up yet. His spider wasnt with the rest and im not sure how others would react to him.
Putting my thoughts to the side i smiled and greeted the always lovable Coulson.
"Coulson my friend, its good to see you. A shame you only show up for work."
He smiles "Well then ill make a note to stop by more often. Let me introduce you to Jemma Simmons and Leopold Fitz. These two are the future of Shield and we are ready to make you an offer for your help in nurturing them."
"Coulson, what kind of offer can possibly be enough to divulge all my secrets into Shield."
He passed me a folder and I peak at the picture of the redhead on the corner. With a smile I relay the folder with a few Red Xs marked on a map and the last one being Budapest. I dont even care how Shield knows Nat works for me, but its a good thing to have her hit these bases.
"Well how can i say no to such a gift. So Fitz and Simmons you'll have to sign Confidentiality Agreements before we can allow you pass the Public areas. Im sure you can understand. And Coulson i made something just for you as well."
After the three of them signed magically binding contracts that Selene whipped up making it impossible for them to tell Shield about anything they see down here, in any way shape or form.
After getting the geniuses who share a brain settled in and getting Coulson equiped with his mini forcefield generator im back down in the labs with Jemma and Fitz going crazy.
They act like theyve never seen a warp gate or a interplanetary capable ship. Or maybe its the meteor of 80% Vibranium i mined from space? Either way having them here should speed up the OverWatch development.
"What happened to them? Their geometric scans are off the charts?" Asked Jemma after taking notice of the Slumbering four.
"They were subjected to extreme amounts of cosmic radiation and its altering their biologies in different ways. Their vitals are normal however for the Meta human spectrum." Shuri explained
Jemma looked at the little girl before questioning "How did they get exposed? If these vitals are normal then this is a scientific breakthrough. Also meta humans? Do you mean mutants?"
"No" Natalia chimed in uncloaking "Mutants are terms of demeaning and insulting views of us. Meta humans is because we're all human who have manifested different Metaphysical powers and abilities.
While Jemma receives her lesson from Nat and Fitz is geeking out with Cho i walk over to the four. Susan Storm calm and collected brilliant geneticist. Johnny arrogant, flashy, but he's a top class engineer. Ben Grimm excellent Mechanic and a wrecking force when powered up. His only issue was anger from being stuck in a rock state. But that was taken care of.
All excellent members for OverWatch yet then theres Reed. Brilliant arrogant and super dangerous. Gave his team cosmic radiation, Blew up multiple buildings, hes someone i dont want here. But knowing him he'll follow his teammates. What to do what to do.
I keep walking in between the beds wondering what to do about Reed, when suddenly Susans eyes open wide and she grabs my arm pulling herself up abruptly.
She looks at me and with uncertainty in her eyes she asked "What happened?"
