Kapitel 2: Chronos

Its been month after i have been sent to the orphanage. Other than the Madam Hera, the head of the orphanage, i don't really interact much with other kids. It's not like i don't want to be friends with them but it's my mana that scares them. Well, I am actually a bit thankful just a bit. Jk I just don't want to be friends with brats.
The orphanage is great. 3 meals a day, a comfy bed and my favourite... a library. Why is that my favourite? Beacuse of information.
I've been finding ways to return to Earth like any normal person. My only hope is space-time magic, which I found out in the library. I've also learnt about this world.
Let's talk about this world. The world I'm currently in is called Terra. Like Alex told me there is magic. There are also monsters, demons and other race.
I'm current in the capital of an empire called Chronos. The best thing is that Chronos is also called the Empire of Magic. The empire is ruled by a Royal family who is blessed by God to have extraordinary talent in magic, or so it says.
The Empire was first found by Auther Via Chronos, the first king of Chronos and a Time mage. It was said he was an 8th Tier Mage the highest level know. He created the Empire with the 7 Archon(got it from genshin impact hehe), 7 8th tier mage.
This would be the best place if your goal is to be a mage. And mine was, because i need magic to return and why not, right?
I thinkni forgot to explain some about this orphanage. This orphanage only accepts children with talent for magic. That's the reason that the facilities are good. With my amount of mana, the knights brought me tonthis orphanage.
At the age of 10, children can choose to attend the awakening ceremony to have your attribute and mana capacity identified. Those with good results will have a chance to attend a magic academy. One of the most famous academy it all Terra is the Chronos Royal Academy of Magic.

There are 4 categories of magic. Null, Base, Derived and Arcana.
Null Magic: Non elemental magic that anyone can use.
e.g. Healing, enhance, summoning...
Base magic: 7 elements, the most common types of magic. Like the 5 element in Naruto
e.g. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Shadow and Light.
Derived magic: magic derived from the 7 elements that only people with advance control of certain elements can use. Or you can be born with it. Kind of like kekkei genkai.
e.g. Ice, Sand, Crystal, Blood..... (there are a lot more)
Arcana Magic: Most unique magic. Only a number of people have been born to have this type of magic. Arcana Magoc cannot be learned and are only exclusive to those born with it.
e.g. Time, Space, Gravity...

Now there is magic tiers. From 1st to 8th tiers is simply the level of a spell. The higher the tier the stronger the spell is but at the same time the difficulty to cast it also increases.
Tiers is also used to rank a Mage. Mages are ranked based on their highest spell tier. For example, a 3rd tier mage strongest spell is a 3 tier spell. Simple enough right?
A mage can have multiple attribute and each attribute can have different tier. A person can be A 3rd tier Fire mage and a 4 tier Earth mage.
My goal for now is to attend Chronos Royal Academy of Magic.
Next is to graduate and get a job as a Royal Mage. Becoming a royal mage can get me access to all the spell in the kingdom or even the world. But, my main goal is to get King Auther's Grimoire. As a Time mage, he might have something related to space-time travel. My best bet to return is that.
Before the age of 10, I need find a way to increase my magic abilities? Capacity? Or whatever they call it. This will increase my chances of getting into the academy. Finding a book about mana training, I started my training.
There are two things a good mage need, that is a large amount of mana and good mana control.

Mana pool will increase overtime but some may have more mana compared to others his/her age. It's recorded that only 10% of the human population in Chronos have enough mana to be a mage. Reminds me of Fairy Tail, which makes me wonder what if this is Fairy Tail but it isn't. The minimum amount of mana a mage should have is equal to the amount to of 10 1st tier magic without rest or you can use the magic circle for the awakening ceremony to check.
Mana pool can be increased through rituals, but its just a small boost. It can't be compared to those naturally born. This method is mostly used by nobles as it's too expensive for any commoner.
Next is mana control. Mana control is the ability to manipulate, absorb and apply. Mana control can reduce the amount of mana needed for each spell, decrease time needed to regenerate mana or even increase the output of spells. Mana control is important as some spell require certain level of control to use.
A lsrge mana pool need good control to use a spell efficiently. If a person with a lot of mana but has no control, a simple fire spell could fail or cause an explosion.
Both mana pool and control are important.

Since mana I have a large mana pool and it will increase as I grow, I would focus on mana control. I start reading the book about control training.
(3 hours later)
The first method is the Refining Method. It's simply just running mana through objects. The more fragile the object the easier it breaks when mana is passed through it. The objective is to avoid breaking the said object.
After reading, I decided to use a leaf. It breaks immediately after I release my mana. I decided to try again cuz what else can I do?
(5 years later)
I'm currently eight. I'm currently standing outside as a punishment. Why am I punished? Cuz I plucked out all the leaves of 5 trees for my training.
Mana is harder to control so it took 5 years and 5 trees. I would finish all the leaves of a tree before winter and use another tree after that. But the trees never grow again so here I am. They just found out cus I yells after I finally succeeded.
The director, a 6th tier mage was shocked when he saw me succeed then he dropped down and laughed. Why? Not that I'm a genius or prodigy. It's because I could have shorten my training time in half if I started with something less fragile and work my way up. That and I plucked out 5 trees.
Them Madam Hera cam and scolded me. That's the story and here I'm standing outside with nothing to eat.
On the bright side, I have good, if not perfect mana control. So, it's not so bad. I also learned 3null spell : basic heal, sprint and voice imitation. It's exactly what it sounds like.
I still have 2 more years before I my awakening ceremony so no elemental magic before that.
