"what in the world happened Alex?" Lexi asked her brother, who seemed lost for words and was holding on to Lia's hand as she would disappear.

The beeps on the monitor were the only things that gave him hope. He couldn't handle it if he lost her. He hadn't even heard what his sister said to him, and Lexi had to try again. When did they get so cursed that the innocents got hurt so bad?

Lia was on the bed with her head bandaged, her arms, her fingers, her legs; she literally looked like Lazarus, and Alex were still wondering when the fuck he had failed so badly.

Everything had been okay earlier when they were at the company, fuck, he even took her to the school, and now here she was looking like she was the fucking walking dead.
