Every second that passed made the breathing of the people who were in the hall become rougher and rougher. Even the matriarch wasn't spared from the trouble at hand.

There wasn't anyone in the hall who wasn't terrified of what was about to befall the village. While they had been able to deal with one of the beast's warlords, when it came to the general, it was a different story.

"Humph!" Tension was all over the hall, and a few minutes had only passed when all the elders in the village were covered in sweats.

Margaret glanced at Zaylee who was a few meters away from her and an anxious look couldn't help but appear on her face. She hoped that there would be a way to avert this problem, but Zaylee also had that worried expression on her face.

If there was someone who had it worse in the room, then it was going to be Zaylee. As whatever the beasts wanted from Devon, she was also going to be dealing with a bit of the effect from her end.
