25% Married to the Scandalous Billionaire / Chapter 2: Let Go of My Hand!

Kapitel 2: Let Go of My Hand!

Beverley felt as if her soul had fallen to the bottom of an abyss. Emma had already told her about this before. However, she thought there was still time for further discussion. It turned out that the woman had already determined this marriage long ago.

What should she do now? Her chest became sore. How could Emma do this? Didn't she consider her feelings a little bit?

"Bev..." Katy didn't know what to say. She rubbed Beverley's back gently, hoping to calm her down a bit.

"I have to see Emma," Beverley said suddenly. Her gaze turned cold. She immediately grasped the invitation paper, along with an unopened folded letter. She straightened her back and tried to strengthen her resolve.

"I'll take you there." Katy took her car keys, and they both left the room. Katy left a few messages at the cafe's cashier before walking away.

Katy's cafe is quite far from Beverley's father's house. During this time, Beverley worked as a manager at this cafe and lived in a condominium that was not far from the cafe.

The car continued to move, showing the shadows of the buildings on the side of the road. Beverley looked out of the window in a huff. Only one more night is left for her to be single. If she had just kept quiet, maybe her status would have changed to that of a wife tomorrow.

A foreign man's wife.

Beverley rubbed her face roughly. Without her realizing it, they had arrived in front of a three-story house that was quite luxurious. Her anger soared when she saw the house. Why didn't Emma sell the house to pay off her debt and leave some of that money to buy a simpler house?

She immediately got out of the car and ran to the house. Her grip on the invitation grew stronger. "Emma!" She rang the doorbell several times.

"Please calm down, Bev," Katy said quietly.

"How can I calm down? Katy, she's treating me badly," Beverley replied, her eyes already bloodshot.

A few moments later, the closed door finally opened. The person who appeared there wasn't Emma but rather a middle-aged woman wearing a housekeeper's uniform. "Oh, Miss?"

"Aunt Jane, where's Emma?" asked Beverley directly.

"Since she left this afternoon, the madam hasn't come home at all," replied Aunt Jane, causing Beverley to groan in frustration. Where did the woman go?

"Bev, maybe you can see your dad while you wait for Emma to come home," Katy said.

Finally, Beverley nodded slowly. They both stepped inside. The large house felt cold. There was no warmth at all, as if no one was occupying it.

"Aunt Jane, does Emma always leave like this?" Beverley looked at the housekeeper seriously.

"During the day, she is always at home. However, in the evening, sometimes she will go outside."

Beverley couldn't help but sigh. After that, she went to see her father, who was lying in the room. The man looked older and thinner. One side of his face drops down.

"Dad..." Beverley wore a big smile as if nothing had happened. She hugged her father, who was staring at her in silence. There was a look of confusion on the older man's face.

"You must be wondering why I came home early. My return schedule is supposed to be Monday, but I miss you so much," she whispered, holding James' hand. The man looked like he wanted to talk, but his condition made it difficult for him.

"Dad, I came here only for a moment. There was Katy outside too. Actually, I also want to meet with…" Her sentence immediately stopped when she heard the sound of several cars stopping in front of the house. Is Emma finally back?

Beverley glanced out the window. It was getting dark because it was already dusk. She got up and walked over to the window. Emma's car had stopped in front of the house, and another car seemed to have stopped there too.

"Dad, I'm going to see Emma in a bit. I love you, Dad."

She kissed James on the cheek and forehead. After that, she walked out of the room. She ran down the stairs. When she got downstairs, Emma seemed to be stepping in, followed by several men in black. Who are those people?

"Good! So, it's true you're here," said Emma, looking at Beverley.

"What's this?" Beverley held up the ivory-yellow invitation in her hand. "Are you crazy?! Since when did you plan this?!"

"Honey, I did my best to take care of our family. I'm sorry if I disappointed you," regretted Emma. Of course, it's just acting. In fact, she didn't feel any pity for Beverley.

"Stop saying that. You are so disgusting!"

"You can call me disgusting or whatever. But it would be best if you packed up now. Mr. Oliver's subordinates were here. They probably couldn't wait any longer. Right?" Emma asked the men in black. They nodded flatly.

Finally, Beverley understood. So, those people wanted to take her now. Take her forcibly to Oliver's house for marriage tomorrow. What the hell are they?!

Beverley opened her mouth, but not a single sentence came out. She didn't know what to say. Everything was too shocking and made her heart shake.

"Emma, shouldn't you have considered this matter first?" Katy, who had been silent for a long time, finally started to speak. She couldn't stand to see her best friend treated like that anymore.

Emma smiled sweetly. "Hi, Katy. I am her mother. So, I know what's best for her," she said casually.

"That's not the best! I don't want to!" growled Beverley angrily. She immediately tore the corner of the ivory-yellow invitation. "I don't want to go!"

Another folded piece of paper finally fell to the floor. Emma, who saw this, immediately took it. She quickly opened it and read what was written on it. Her expression turned brighter.

"Look! You should read this letter, Bev."

Beverley immediately grabbed the letter and tore it up without reading it first. She was sick—sick of everything that was going on. It felt like she wanted to disappear from this place. However, she knew that was impossible.

"Stupid!" Emma got angry. "Are you going to prepare now or are they going to drag you away?!"

"I'm not leaving!" shouted Beverley loudly. Her eyes became red. Her breath was heaving erratically.

"Katy, let's go!" She immediately grabbed Katy's hand and walked towards the exit.

However, how could the men in black let it be? They immediately gave chase. One of them grabbed Beverley's hand firmly and dragged her away from Katy. Several others blocked her and kept Katy away from her.

"Miss, we can do it roughly if you act tough," said the man who was gripping her hand.

Beverley gritted her teeth. Her eyes immediately bulged. "Let go of my hand!"

The black-clad men exchanged glances with their comrades. They looked like they were making a deal. Shortly after that, they suddenly dragged Beverley out of the house and forced her into the car.

"Let go of me, bastard!" Beverley tried to scream. She struggled to break free. Unfortunately, her efforts were in vain. She was held back by two big men. She was clearly outnumbered.

Beverley's eyes heated up. In her desperation, she could only scream and hope for someone's help. Unfortunately, the world is too blind. No one came to help her.
