Kapitel 6: Chapter 6 Parties Of The Rich

"You look beautiful," I smiled, taking her hand and linking it around my own, observing how the sky blue gown perfectly went with her eyes, she looked ethereal.

"Thank you," she gleamed, leaning up to kiss my lips without me having to ask for it as I usually would many of the times. I perked up at that, keeping her lips in place by placing my hand on her cheek and savoring the moment.

I leaned away after a moment, smiling down at her red face while my thumb rubbed her bottom lip which was now plump and a brighter shade of red, straying from the usual pink colour.

"Shall we go?" She nodded her head and I led us both outside and into the waiting carriage as a few of the workers and the butler of the mansion waved us off.

Other guests as well as the hosts of the party themselves were flocking around the carriage before we had even been drawn to a stop. The door pulled open and before I left, I turned to look at my wife who was looking out the window, eyes sparkling with curiosity and unaware of my gaze which was focused on her.

Surprising her, I tilted my head to the side, moving in and placing a firm, deep kiss which couldn't have lasted longer than three seconds on her lips. A few guests who had seen what I had just done, gasped, giggling and hiding their faces behind their fans.

I stepped out, outstretching a hand for Aria and she took it, carefully stepping out of the black carriage. The door shut behind her and I plastered a smile onto my face, ignoring the guests as I made my way inside with my wife by my side.

Aria's nerves quickly subsided as the evening progressed, the society loved her. Anyone could see that and I had the luxury of calling her my wife.

I kept her by my side as I introduced her to a few of my business associates. I had expected for her to get bored but not only did she fit into the conversation like a perfect puzzle piece, she took control of the entire group and that was an achievement unheard of, to be able to control these stingy old fools without them even knowing it. I had underestimated her.

She's always managing to surprise me in the best way possible, my pride for her only growing and she loved how I was proud of her. She was the perfect wife and I can imagine that someday, she will be the perfect mother too.

"A coloured picture. I do believe it to be possible, maybe in another half-a-century or so. It will be revolutionary," she smiled, nodding along to one of my associates theory of what the world may be like in the future, from 50 to 100 years.

Talking about pictures, I only now realized that I didn't have nearly enough of my wife. I'll have to do something about that. I have our wedding picture on my desk along with a few portraits of her but I need more.

"Oh, darling. Dance with me," she gleamed up at me, her hand on my chest as if showing off to all the other jealous ladies in the room that I was hers, I knew that wasn't the case but a man could dream.

"You don't have to ask me twice," chuckling, I held her hand, leading us onto the dance floor and twirling her before slamming her to my chest and she laughed, a full, happy laugh, tilting her head back and exposing that beautiful neck to me. While all the other men gawked at her wondrous self, the women turned red in jealousy but the two of us continued dancing as if there was no one else in the room but us.

"Are you having fun?" I whispered, pulling her closer to me by the waist.

"Surprisingly, yes," she nodded her head, leaning back a bit to meet my gaze. "I'm not doing anything wrong, am I? Did I embarrass you in some way? Was I talking too-"

"You were better than I thought possible," her shoulders sagged in relief and I laughed, almost kissing her right then and there in front of everyone and I would have if I wasn't worried about the effect of bad rumors on her.

I was, after all, the kind of man that wanted to shelter her from the troubles of the world. If anything, I didn't want her to even leave the safe confines of our home but if I did that then I wouldn't be able to see this smile that I loved so much on her face.

"I'm proud of you," I stroked her cheek.

"Really?" Her eyes shone and I smirked, leaning down to whisper in her ear while placing a hand on the back of her head, stroking her dark blonde locks. "So proud that I don't think I'll be able to let you sleep today."

I leaned away, satisfied by the look on her face; a mixture of surprise, embarrassment and something she would never admit; excitement for the very near future which I will make sure is going to happen. She slapped my chest with a red face.

"What if someone heard you!?" She whisper-shouted, looking around the area to see if someone was watching. Many people were watching but they were nowhere near close enough to have heard my words and if anyone did hear then they will know how much I love my wife as well as the fact that I was the only one allowed to talk to her like this.

Not long after, I was stood with a few subordinates of mine, turning to look over my shoulder every few seconds at my wife who was conversing with her family, her younger brother sat around her waist and playing with a few strands of her hair as she talked to her second oldest sister who was apparently aspiring to become a nurse like her older sister.

I didn't really care for anyone in that family other than Aria, let alone their interests and aspirations. But I can't say I didn't like the sight of her with a child on her hip, the sight made me want to hurry up and put a child in her because whether she tells me or not, I already know that having a child that belonged to us would make her the most happiest.

"You have really hit the jackpot," I turned back around to meet the man's gaze. Edward Black, he was the son of one of my business partners, being a year younger than me with brown hair and brown eyes. He honestly couldn't have been more plain looking.

He pointed at my smiling wife and I followed his finger to look at her before turning back to meet his gaze, a warning look in my gaze to see how far he would go.

"She is a real beauty, a hidden gem in society. No one had ever heard of her before the news of your marriage had gotten out. With beauty like that, I'm surprised how no one has had the privilege to meet her before. She's not like the rest of society's fat women... She must keep you satisfied if you are not looking for more wives already..."

No one had to say anything.

A simple look into my eyes would be enough for anyone to click onto the situation. Anyone other than Mr Edward Black. He, who had a death wish.

I may not have been good at feeling emotion but one thing I knew I was amazing at and the rest of the world knew too is my ability to make people regret having ever met me and I was about to put that ability into use right now.

Because he was talking about my muse as if she were any other whore created by society. And that is where I drew the line.

This man wasn't going to live to see another day.
