No matter how hard she tried, Agatha couldn't forget what had happened that night. Something inside her had broken and couldn't be restored. She didn't know exactly what changed, but she couldn't simply go on with her life as if nothing had happened.
For two days now, Agatha hadn't left her new room. The manor was gone with all her belongings but that was not what drove her into this state. All she wanted was to stay in bed where she felt safe with Tempest in her arms.
"I know I have to get out of this plight I am in and recover, but I can't. The village needs me, especially now that Hardulf is gone," she muttered, her fingers playing with the silver curls.
Agatha cried in silence as the wolf looked at her with sadness in his eyes. When his warm tongue wiped away her tears, she smiled. "Oh, you don't even know how much I want you to be human."
