Kapitel 62: Emergency

While the dragon is getting cocky, I and the bear look at each other. We exchange a knowing smile.

"Hum, you guys? Shouldn't we run or something? I don't want to finish in a monster's stomach!"

Why would he even eat a hammer? Then again who knows.

"Guys, let's …"

That's when it happens. All the roots spring on the dragon. He gets pierced from all sides.

"What is this?! What kind of …."

He's struggling and trying to free himself, but it doesn't work. More and more roots appear. That's when the face of the lizard turns white. Well, not really but it feels that way. I can see the horror in his eyes.

"Please save this dragon!"

"Wow! What the hell is this?! This hammer has never seen something so cool!"

I truly understand why my disciple said that dragons are nothing but overgrown lizards. If they all end up in such a way they are not much of an issue. I see the problem.

They are so used to ruling and being at the top of the food chain. According to legends on earth anyway. Seems to be the case here too. This makes it so they don't have much danger awareness.

"Please save this dragon! This dragon will do anything just…"

Should I ask it to be my pet? Riding a dragon in the night sky would be awesome! If I can ever change this body of mine…it would be perfect for a date haha. Ah, but what if he tries to betray me? He could easily drop me while we are at a high altitude. Yes, this sounds very risky.

Still, the upside is a real-life dragon. That much is an undeniable pro. Ah, but what do dragons eat? Would it be able to easily survive in this forest? Also strange thing but why have I only ever seen a few creatures here? A forest is supposed to be full of life. The numbers don't add up.

Seriously what should I … Ah, never mind. While I was making my mind the roots kept skewering him. It is already but a lifeless husk. Guess next time I should reach a prompt decision.

Still gotta be careful when adopting pets. Some are a pain to take care of. Also why I left that furnace behind haha. Not my problem anymore!

"Wait, bear! Why are you asking for feedback? Aren't you the one that saved us all?"

"Of course not haha. This bear only managed to do that because of teacher's lessons. Really it's teacher that saved us all!"

He takes a smug expression. Why am I being praised? Why does he still think I'm some wise guy? Will there be any other dragon invading any time soon? Actually, I want to know about any other creatures as powerful.

Anything that has the potential to cause so much destruction and potentially kill me… Would be nice to get a warning or something. But for now, we have something more urgent to do. We sprint to the lake.

[GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE ANYONE THAT CAN HEAR ME!]

Yes, we kinda have a sea of fire to deal with. Seriously dragons really are assholes it seems. It flew out of nowhere. Started disturbing the peace by roaring. Then it breathed fire everywhere like some pyromaniac. Finally, it simply died like a dumbass, killed by a tree.

The life of a young dragon: retard edition. Seriously there is something wrong with these actions. Still, we start picking up water and dumping it all as fast as we can. I use nature magic to make big plant-based moving cauldrons.

It all goes by itself to the disaster zone. Honestly, I'm mostly expecting to have lost my house by now. I come back to find it on fire. Surprisingly it is burning but also fine. It seems like there is some sort of protection on that thing.

Then again it could simply be that it is resistant because it is made from a part of Yggdrasil? Wait that's kinda creepy when I think about it like that. To reside in a piece of my friend's flesh. Oh well.

In such a manner we do a few trips back and forth carrying water. It takes a while but eventually we are done. Surprisingly there is barely any damage.

[Didn't you see the huge fire?]

"No! I'm the one that needs water to live! You guys are pushing me into a corner!"

[We needed water for the fire as I said.]

"Don't try to fool me with your stories of fire! I know fire doesn't need water to live!"

What the hell? She's proven to know some pretty advanced stuff before. Why is she appearing smug? I seriously can't take this much bullshit.

[Whatever, stop bothering me!]

"This Siren will not go down without a fight! I will heroically protect my lake from all evil!"

Time to use my secret technique.

[Wanna hear something funny?]

"W-what?"

[Mute…]

"W-what do you mean?"

[Mute a fucking siren so she can't speak or sing ever again.]

"Nooooo my voice!"

Welp that sends her scurrying away real nice.

My disciple is nodding while the new member is wondering what this is all about. Oh well, what now? Disaster avoided, for the moment at least.

Still, I do feel like there is so much I ignore about this whole world. For instance, the monsters in it, the powers that inhabit it, and what the forest I am in right now truly consists of.

Time to go and meet the spider.

She can probably answer my inquiries.
