Oh hell no.
He does not get to do this.
I straighten my clothing and march to the door, intent to set Alaric straight about just how far I’m willing to let him push me. When I swing open the door, the guard has a surprised look on his face.
“Is everything ok, ma’am?” he asks me. I must have quite the expression on my face because he backs up a little when I step over the threshold.
“What is your name?” I ask him with a slightly aggressive tone.
“Carl,” he replies warily.
“Hi, Carl. My name is Raven, as I’m sure you already know. I need to speak to the Alpha. You’re not going to give me any trouble about that, are you Carl?” I ask him sweetly.
“No, ma’am,” he replies.
“Wonderful, then we are going to get along just fine,” I say and give him a smile as I start to walk towards the stairs. Carl is hot on my heels and I whip around so abruptly he almost crashes into me.
“Why are you following me Carl?” I ask.
