Kapitel 7: The Deal

"Should we have told him that there would be immense peril when all three of us awaken?" The green Adrian stated.

"He does not need to know about that. Are you done assimilating with our memories?" The golden Adrian asked.

"I have finished the ones that are complete, but it seems some parts of our memories were erased." The green Adrian stated.

"Memory Eater…" The pitch-black Adrian grunted.

"We were attacked by a memory eater! But we should be immune to their powers. Do you remember anything before the Memory Eater or are you just speculating?" The green Adrian asked.

"It is just our opinion but that is the likeliest scenario. Fortunately, the memories that were stolen are not that dangerous." The golden Adrian stated in tone filled with confidence.

"You do realize that any memory we hold is not trivial. We only decide to store memories with importance." The green Adrian stated in a rather irritated tone.

"The ones that were stolen were not world ending memories, so you do not have to worry. The one thing that we need to worry about is how we got affected by a puny Memory Eater." The golden Adrian stated but the other two just stared blankly at him.

"I did not realize that the two of you became close. Seeing as you two are holding hands and whatnot." Dustan stated but he was not heard. He looked at the two individuals holding hands and it looked like they were in a daze.

"I gave you a crash course." Adrian stated as his glowing golden aura receded. His eyes returned to its normal dark brown color.

"Oh! Dustan is here. Do you need anything?" Joe asked as he unliked his hand with Adrian's.

"I was here like thirty seconds ago, but you guys looked like you were dazed. Is there a problem? Did he do something to you!?" Dustan stated as he controlled four knives from his coat.

"No, he will be an addition to our team. Like Sofia said, we need an empath in our team. Especially if the empath is the Child of Gaia. I believe you will agree." Joe stated as he looked at Adrian.

"I would like to know the benefits after all. I do not work for free especially if my life is on the line. This is not a charity. I came here because I needed to get employed after all." Adrian stated which made Dustan even more pissed at him than he already is.

"Calm down, Dustan. If you are here, then you must need to tell me something. Also, get along with him even though he is not that easy to get along with." Joe stated with a deep sigh.

"Sofia has regained her sanity after what he did to her. She wants to speak with you." Dustan stated.

"I see. Dustan, please lead…" Joe stated as he looked at Adrian.

"Adrian." Adrian stated as Joe looked like he needed a response as he was a bit confused on what to call him.

"Please lead Adrian to his quarter first. We will talk about your employment plan later." Joe stated as he walked off to the clinic where Sofia is currently being held.

"You. Behave." Dustan stated with firm resolve.

"Okay." Adrian stated with his hands up.

Dustan then led Adrian to a series of corridors until they were in a circular hall with numerous doors. Dustan then opened one of the doors and it led to an empty room. Once the door is opened, the room would have a small hallway where there are shelfs to place things.

After the small hallway, a room that is about 150 square feet with a normal looking bed and one pillow. The room had two more doors which are a changing room and a bathroom. Dustan then instructed him to wait inside the room until he is fetched. He slightly closed the door with force, but Adrian could already feel his annoyance even if he did not show it.

Adrian locked his door after Dustan left. He then sat in the bed in a crossed legged position and closed his eyes.

"Mother, let me hear your voice." Adrian stated as he emptied his mind.

"Sofia! Are you fully recovered?" Joe asked as he asked the other to leave. He needed to talk with Sofia alone as her body language said so. Sofia started to talk when the others were no longer present.

"That kid! He made me remember my most painful memories. I want to hate him, but I remembered the one who slaughtered my family thanks to him." Sofia stated.

"The Inquisition? But that was hundreds of years ago. That man should no longer be alive." Joe stated but Sofia was not convinced.

"When he made me relive my memories, I managed to see the face of the bastard that razed my village to the ground. He was not ordinary, Joe. He could suck the life force of other people. I saw him strangle a woman by the neck and she turned into a shriveled corpse a few seconds later. I believe that he is still alive." Sofia stated with her anger being projected throughout her face.

"Recover your strength first. We both know that the last mission you did took quite a toll on you. Once you recovered, we will help you find that person. The thing that we need to focus on is the alarming number of Deviants that are becoming Depraved." Joe stated in a serious tone.

"Then we better get that Empath read the one that we recently captured." Sofia stated as she stood up and asked Joe to escort her to Adrian.

Adrian tried really hard to communicate with the will of the world or as the ancient humans called her Gaia. There was once a titan to name herself as Gaea, but she was only a cheap imitation of the will of the world.

Adrian could not hear the Gaia, but he was sure that she spoke to him before he fully awakened. He stopped the meditation when he felt two presences come to his door. They even had a master key that unlocked his door.

"Can I help you with something?" Adrian stated with a smile.
