When the match between Ichika and Shin was over, Loki checked to see how Shin was doing once he learned that Shin was okay Loki headed to the usual place where he trained his techniques. 

After watching the fight between Ichika and Shin, Loki learned a ton of new things. It turns out inner energy was truly something very different from Mana. 

Mana is an outside energy that you can absorb into your body, but there are different kinds of mana the most basic is pure mana, and then there are the different elemental energy types of mana like fire, water, wind, and others elements, there are also more types but these are the most basic ones.

Now based on what Loki knew about inner energy as the name implies it comes from oneself, but then today Loki saw something amazing. Unlike, Mana where you need to understand and separate different elemental types to use different spells, you can transform inner energy into different types of elemental energy.
