Kapitel 69: Landing on Ilum

~~~(Personal Ship, Exiting Hyperspace over Ilum)~~~
The blue hue of Hyperspace ends, and I'm shown the ice world of Ilum... The powerful connection it has to The Force is easily sensed... "Where it all began... Time for some answers..." My senses spread out, and I sense thousands of Republic and Imperial forces on the surface. There are no massive fleets or ships taking occupations around the world.
There is a guerrilla war going on here from both sides. I take hold of the controls and bring the ship down to the world myself. The descent is fast, and my destination is The Caves of Ilum. Where I was shown all those visions and people, I didn't know. The constant snowstorm rocks my ship slightly as the descent to the world continues.
The landing is a little rough, but my ship sustains no damages. My eyes look out at the endless tundra of ice and snow... My ship shows me that I'm around 9 kilometers from my destination. The Caves of Ilum are under the heavy occupation of Republic forces. "That's annoying..." Should've expected it. The Jedi wouldn't let the location fall into the Sith's hands.
As I stand, the feeling that I had the first time I was here washes over me. I make my way to the back of the ship, and the latch slowly opens. My body is chilled by the winds and temperature of the world. The Force flows into me in a single thought, and the cold is gone. I look in the direction I need to go and start walking.
~~~(POV: Jedi Knight Wendil Varos)~~~
~~~(Location: Republic Base located at The Cave of Ilum)~~~
My eyes dart open as a powerful presence floods my senses... I've never felt anything so powerful in my entire life. I stand up abruptly, and the air shifts with me. Ilum feels him too... Nathan Opal is on Ilum, and he's heading here... "Master Jedi? Is something wrong?" One of my guards looks at my messy features as I exit my chambers.
They wouldn't sense him, but the Sith that are also on Ilum can feel what I feel. "Gather the soldiers and officers. We should expect an assault soon..." My guard immediately contacts the people who help me command and organize the soldiers and this base. There is much to prepare for... We don't stand a chance against Nathan, but there might be a chance to reason with him.
There are many things that I don't know about Nathan and his abilities, only reports from his scarce encounters with our forces from time to time. After walking through the base, I make it to the meeting room that the other Knights and soldiers are gathered here. I can see the faces of my fellow Jedi, and it seems they've sensed him as well...
They're all waiting for me to speak, and the ones that need to be clued in are the ones that can't sense The Force... "We have a powerful enemy arriving at our location within the hour. His name is Nathan Opal. We'll try to talk peacefully with him, but if things go south... Prepare to die, 'cause he's not someone that can be beaten with conventional means..." The reactions I get are expected...
The soldiers in my charge have incredible amounts of trust in me, and I've never let them down or spoken to them in this way... "What should we expect once Nathan arrives? Will he be alone?" An officer by the name Hego Sieres asks a valid question. What we know about Nathan is he travels alone and fights alone. I didn't sense anyone else landed with him...
It's safe to assume that he's here alone and is coming for something regarding the caves. "He'll be alone but expect overwhelming power. Many of you don't know The Force, but Nathan is unlike anything that has ever existed. He can tear ships apart and shatter worlds of their life and connection to The Force..." The grim faces around the room informs me my point is across...
The soldiers and officers leave the room, and I'm left with my fellow Knights... "Trust in The Force, my friends... Even if today is our last day, we'll not know death... Cause there is only The Force..." They nod their heads and slowly exit the room. Preparing for Nathan's arrival... I'll admit, I'm nervous, but I'm not scared... I've lived a good life, but I'll try and preserve everyone else's...
