Kapitel 64: Terrorism and Meeting

__________ POV Beru__________

Now, I regret not reading this shitty plan before accepting it.

It's quite shitty. I mean, this Lady Nagant was described as a villain. So, what is the plan to lure her out exactly? Well, orchestrating numerous hostage situations across the nation. (How's that supposed to help anyone?)

Apparently, they are going to do this for the next few months. They will hire an outside group, mercenaries to do the actual hostage situations.

Well, I say mercenaries. But they are basically a gang of thieves.

They are out for profit and uncaring for the means with which they achieve it. That's exactly how they are described in the files Oyama gave me.

My job is apparently to appear and save the hostages when need be. If the local heroes get overwhelmed, it's my job to step in.

I also can't allow them to be caught, no matter the circumstance. Getting them out of prison would be annoying.

Oyama doesn't seem to trust this group at all, she basically wants me to keep tabs on them. I need to make sure they don't step over the line. (some casualties are acceptable it seems)

Of course, they don't have any idea that they were hired by the government. They've been contacted anonymously by one of the Commission's agents going undercover.

From the files I received, they're pretty strong. Enough that some weaker pro Heroes might have issues dealing with them.

Their leader specifically seems to have a sort of metal manipulation quirk, there's not enough information on it, but it seems pretty strong.

I need to watch over them both to protect them (if they are about to get caught) and to fuck them over (if they aren't respecting the contract).

The hostage situations will happen weekly, and I need to be present and observe the situation from the shadows.

Overall, it's a really annoying job that I already agreed to. It's just busy work.

Under normal circumstances, I'd tell Oyama to go finger herself to death and give up on the mission. But Lady Nagant sounds like an interesting character.

I mean, she kinda waltzed into the HQ of a shady organisation(that she apparently worked for) and just fucking shot their leader.

Descriptions about her character seem to be a bit vague.

It's pretty fucking clear that the Commission will have a bias against her. So I can take their word as shit and find out more about her myself.

Now, Oyama speculates that IF Lady Nagant is nearby, she is bound to help the hostages from a distance.

And, because they can't be sure of her location, these hostage situations will have to go on for a while. They seem pretty confident that she hasn't fled the country though.

They also seem pretty confident that she will act when seeing civilians in danger. So I guess she's not much of a villain after all.

I mean, putting that title on her head will associate her with other two-bit thugs, murderers and rapists. I mean, I guess she's a murderer(kinda), but the same can be said for many heroes.

So I guess it's just that she killed the wrong people? There is no public information available about her and her crimes. So I'm guessing it's already been covered up.

They just want to catch her/kill her to tie up any loose ends. It's quite scummy, but what exactly was I expecting from an organisation of this nature anyway?

This is pretty standard. I'll see about whether or not they will succeed though.

For now, I can mostly just idle around. I might go and look for Nemuri. I actually haven't talked to her since we were out for drinks.

Why? Because I don't know how much she can remember and I don't like awkward situations.

I've also had my hands full with time to waste, so I couldn't see her. Now I will go and see what she's up to!

Toga is currently in class anyway, apparently, killing 30 people seemed to do the trick. She's no longer too distracted by her thoughts of wanting to taste everyone's blood.

It's bound to come back eventually, kinda like an addiction.

"Today we have breaking news! A massacre occurring on the west side of Musutafu has left authorities shocked and confused. Killer still at lar-" I shut down the television and slowly got off my chair.

I figured they'd announce the media of this event a bit later. But I guess the lack of clues is forcing them to act. With the amount of blood spilt, most of the walls were painted red.

I think it was quite a gruesome sight for the authorities. Toga didn't really bleed, thankfully. I would've had to burn down that entire apartment block otherwise.

And that might've caused a bit of a mess for the people living in the area.

I warped out of my room and into the teacher's lounge. It was surprisingly empty, did Nezu give them a free day or something? I'm pretty sure they should be here right now.

I then decided to warp into the meeting room, which was next door, but who exactly walks when they can teleport? I mean, I don't understand why Kurogiri liked walking around.

I warped myself right on top of the table. I crouched down as to not hit the ceiling. I looked around carefully.

I saw all of the teachers just staring at me, maybe next time I should look at them through the wall first?

__________ POV Narration__________

All of the teachers were in the room, Nezu had called them to the meeting to talk more about the USJ incident.

The purpose of the meeting was to figure out exactly how the 'League of Villains' had gotten their hands on a work schedule.

At first, the principal was suspicious that there might've been a mole. But they simply had no idea who that person could be.

Even if All for One was dead and the threat of the League was eliminated, he needed to make sure nothing like this would ever happen again.

And to do so, he needed to make sure the school was secure.

Then, it just clicked to Nezu. 'I'm such a fool... Why don't I just ask Beru?' After all, Beru had worked with the League.

"Hold on. I just had an idea! I'll call Beru." Said Nezu as he took out his small phone.

The teachers just looked at Nezu weirdly, making the principal sweat a bit. 'Don't blame me! I can't always be above everything...'

Just as the call started ringing, Beru appeared on top of their table. He looked around sneakily for a second, before realising that everybody was inside.

He instantly appeared at the front door.

"OH~, What a coincidence!~ I didn't realise you guys were here.~ I'll just sit down here.~" Beru didn't even mention a whisper about his initial appearance into the room.

Toshinori just rubbed the bridge of his nose while Aizawa casually applied some eye drops and blinked a few times.

Most of the teachers were already used to Beru's... Uniqueness?

"Yes, I was just about to call you! Great to see you." Nezu also completely ignored Beru's bizarre entrance.

"Sure, what's up?~" Beru asked while stretching his legs underneath the table.

"Well, we've been trying to figure out how exactly Tenko Shimura had gotten his hands on a class schedule. Maybe you could shed some light on this issue?" Asked Nezu while staring at the insectoid.

They had all started calling Shigaraki by his real name, not the one given to him by All for One. It was by All Might's request. And it also helped Shigaraki get used to his new life.

Beru took a minute to think about Nezu's question. He distinctly remembered not listening to some of the things Shigaraki and All for One were speaking of. But he had still heard of this before.

"I think~ Shiggy paid some girl with money problems to get it for him~ She's a student, hero course too~ I don't really know who though~" Beru had to really look into his memories to remember that specific conversation.

It was a good thing he had some memory enhancing quirk. Well, he was now technically as intelligent as All for One. (technically is the keyword here)

"I see, thank you for the information Beru. This gives us a lo-" Beru interjected for a second.

"I doubt you've actually got a spy though~ If that's what you're wondering~ Not like Shiggy told her it was for a terrorist attack~" Beru waved his hand dismissively.

Nezu had not expected to get that much information from Beru. But it seemed like the insectoid was of greater standing within the 'League of Villains' than expected. All for One had openly discussed plans in front of him.

"Understandable, still we probably should find out who exactly it was. Even if we don't punish them too severely." Nezu had some weight lifted off his shoulders with this conversation.

"Yea~ You guy do that~ I'll just... Go eat I guess~" He slowly got up.

"Indeed, this meeting is pretty much done. I'll look a bit into the matter myself." The rest of the teachers also got up and prepared to leave.

"Oy~ Nemuri~ Wanna join me?~" Beru asked while pulling on his own wings. (he doesn't like his hands being idle)

"Sure, I don't really have classes right now." She then looked at Nezu, who just nodded and left on his own.

"Great~ Let's go~" They started making their way to the canteen. The atmosphere around them was a bit more strained than usual. So they didn't speak much.

Still, after they took their food from the canteen and sat down in front of each other, they were quite literally forced to talk about 'the elephant in the room'.
