Kapitel 19: Chapter 18
When Jack arrived at the agreed place Alex is already waiting with Mareep already out. Jack looks at the mareep information and smiled.

Basic Abilities: Growl, Tackle, Thunder wave, Thunder shock, cotton spore, charge

Both pokemon levels are same. Although zubat has many moves but mareep has attribute advantage. So it will be a difficult battle normally but Alex is still young and has not experienced real life battles yet unlike Jack. So Jack does not worry about losing and mareep is same as zubat, they are both young so they cannot use their hereditary abilities yet. Basically Alex has no chance.
Zubat is still sitting on the shoulder of Jack and when Alex see the zubat is bigger than normal, there is no surprise expression.
"I am not wrong about you Jack. You did not let down my expectation. It will be an interesting battle, Go Mareep."
Jack smiled and said, "Zubat, use Use combo 1" Alex got surprise to hear that but it is already too late. On the way to the battle Jack already told zubat to use Astonish and toxic first. Then double team and super sonic. That is combo 1.
Normally in duel opponents wait other to get ready first. Then they both gave order at the same time. It is proper way but those are bullshit for Jack. The first pokemon that land the hit has the biggest advantage and he does not want to let go of that advantage because of some bullshit proper ways.
Alex for a moment got speechless and does not know how to command. After Mareep got flinched it got poison by toxic. When he got out of flinch and want to attack zubat has already use double team. While mareep is finding the real one, all zubat use super sonic and mareep got confused.
"Zubat use gust and keep the distance." Jack continued. "Mareep snap out of it, focus and keep calm we can win this." Although zubat gust hit mareep, it snapped out of from confused state but it is still poisoned. Seeing this Jack nodded. "This guy is indeed talented. He still manage to keep his calm even after this no wonder he got first place."
"Zubat continued to use gust."
"Mareep endure and find out where the real wind is coming from to search for real one and use thunder wave." After using gust for two times, mareep figure out the real body of zubat and he uses thunder wave.
"Zubat quick attack dodge and continue in using gust." The battle is already one before it started if Jack wants zubat can kite all day long and Mareep will poisoned to death but he does not want to win this way. He needs to show his dominance so that Alex will accept his loss and will not challenge him again.
"Mareep, protect." Zubat use gust again but the green aura starts to surround mareep and protect him from strong tornado.
Hearing this Jack smiled. Although protect can block some move, during this time the pokemon cannot move or perform any other abilities. "Zubat quick attack raise speed and use wing attack, aim at the head."
Zubat use quick attack to speed up and just after the green aura disappear zubat is already in front of mareep and zubat wing attack hits on Mareep face. A critical hit!
"Mareep hang in there." Alex face is full of worry but at this time, zubats seems electrocuted by some electric current. Alex knows that it is now or never and commanded, "Use full power thunder shock!"
Mareep is injured very much and the poison is still spreading. This will be his last move, if this move fails to take out zubat mareep will lose combat ability due to poison. Even know mareep is still hanging due to will power.
Jack smile ,turn around and said, "Zubat steel wing, then come. We have a lot of work to do." Alex got stunned by Jack reaction but there is no time to be shocked. Mareep uses all of his power to use very big thunder shock. Facing the big electric current, zubat does not seems scare and put his wings into the ground.
This is a trick Jack learn from Sky High Gym Leader Winona in previous life. She beat many electric types with her Pelipper with this trick and this got famous among many people with flying types. She uses steel wing as a lighting rod and touch the ground to direct all the electric to the ground. No electric attack can damage her pokemons. But this move has some disadvantage because one of the wings needs to touch the ground the user cannot move. (Author Note: In anime Pelipper can move but in reality you cannot fly with only one wing)
After using the last attack mareep passed out due to poison. Zubat seems unarmed and he flies back to Jack and landed on his shoulder. Jack does not even look back and leaves quickly because he cannot reveal this trick yet.
Alex does not understand the whole process and cannot believe his eyes. There are many things to process at once and it happen so fast. He just stunned there in disbelief and does not even notice Jack leaving. All of this seems to be a dream. After calming himself he remove all the useless thought and quickly use antidote on Mareep and quickly go to headquarter for treatment. He does not use his once chance medical care for finishing first trial yet.
But this still damage his pride greatly. He is normally a proud person but the behavior of Jack crush him hard. He can see in the Jack eyes that he does not even take him seriously. From the start to finish, he has no chance. Although he is not someone who can not take defeat the last move seems too unreal and the behavior amplified that a lot. In reality Jack runs away in order not to let his secret found out but in the eyes of Alex, it is very dominating.
