Malik reappeared with Maimuna in his hold. She smiled, her head resting on his chest. Today was a very special day for them.

On the same day, a year ago, she had fallen into his pool drenched in blood. On the same day, he had claimed her his to protect and care for. 

She had grown as a person both emotionally and intellectually. The maimuna today was no less than a Queen. The only woman fit to stand by his side.
