Yu Bai and Ma Mian were too engrossed in their own worlds that they did not expect that there are people watching them while peeping from the half-opened door.
Three heads are looking at them with smiles on their faces.
Those three are Yu Bai's friends ever since he started with his ruse and cover-up in the company. They had helped him in many ways although the three did not know his secret.
The oldest of them is a man in his 40's and they all call him Uncle Fan. His real name is Fan Lao and he has been working in the company for 6 years. However, since working he did not know who the boss of the company really is.
The other two are only in their 20's, Li Baiyong and Yao Hai. Both just graduated from college yet were not able to get the job they wanted. Since they are desperate to get a job in a big city, they applied to too many jobs but failed to get one.
In desperation, they decided to work in the lowest rung of the ladder, utility personnel.
Li Baiyong is actually a computer expert but did not have a chance to show his ability due to lack of opportunity and money. However, ever since working in the Jailong corporation, he began to enjoy his simple job while having more time for himself and his hobby in computers.
Yao Hai on the other hand is still in college. For some reason, he decided to go back to school and take another major.
Both are secretive about themselves, but Yu Bai already knew their secret which's why he became friends with those two along with Uncle Fan.
While those three are looking at them, Yu Bai felt a bit embarrassed while Ma Mian also blushes on the side.
"Hey, Young Bai… Is this your girlfriend?" Uncle Fan said while walking out of the door.
His action made the two young men fall on the ground as they scurry to stand up from the ground. They did not want to be embarrassed in front of a woman.
Seeing the playful glances of Uncle Fan at the two, Yu Bai could not help but scold the man in his mind. The reason why he ran as fast as he could to stop Ma Mian from entering the room is that he did not want those three to meet her.
He knew that if those three knew that she is his wife, they would not stop pestering him. And that would reveal too many things and unnecessary information about himself and his work in the company.
"Uncle Fan, we have to go first… I will see you guys later…" Yu Bai suddenly grabs Ma Mian's soft hands and then gestured for her to run.
"Hey, Uncle Fan I think he is trying to escape!" suddenly Li Baiyong exclaimed while pointing at Yu Bai.
The two showed confused expressions on their faces and turn their gaze towards Li Baiyong. But soon they realize what he meant and immediately look back at Yu Bai. However, the two people who should have been standing in front of them suddenly vanished in thin air.
"Damn… He's fast…" Yao Hai could not help but mutter.
Meanwhile, Yu Bai and Ma Mian have already reached the stairs near the lobby.
"Wait!… Wait!…" Ma Mian called out while catching her breath.
"Why are we running?" she asked showing a confused expression.
"Sigh… Those three are quite annoying. They would not stop pestering you and me with tons of questions…" Yu Bai explained.
"Really? I think they look cute…" she muttered with a smile.
"I don't want them to pester you… By the way, what are you doing here?"
"Oh, me? I'm here to see you…"
"Really! That's… that's great!" Yu Bai showed elation in his eyes.
He was so touched that his wife would go all the way to his company to see him. He is not that worried about his secret as even in the company only a handful of people knew who he really is.
"Let's have lunch together…" Yu Bai said with a smile.
"You haven't had your lunch yet?"
"Yeah… I was swamped with work, but since you are already here, let's go to the cafeteria."
The two went to the company cafeteria and Ma Mian saw many scrumptious foods on the menu.
"Is your company always serving these kinds of foods?" she asked in a low tone.
"Ah, yes… We use our food card to get the food we wanted and it would be deducted from our food allowance and salary."
Ma Mian ordered a lot of delicious food on the menu and the two had a nice lunch. However, unknown to them, a group of women are observing the two.
"Hey, isn't that the janitor you have a crush on? Who's that woman with him?" one of the women asked while looking at Yu Bai and Ma Mian.
"I don't know… This is the first time I saw her in the company."
"She may not be from our company. An ugly woman like her could not stand working in this place…"
"Hihi… you're right, look at her face and those black dots. Plus her glasses are so thick I think they're bulletproof… Hihi…"
"Hahaha… I did not expect that your crush like those kinds of girls."
As they discuss a beautiful woman sitting beside them shifted her gaze towards Yu Bai and Ma Mian. Upon seeing the happy expressions on their faces, she showed an annoyed expression on her face.
Ever since she noticed that young and handsome utility personnel, she has begun investigating about him. Although on paper, he belongs to a poor family and decided to work as a utility in the company to support himself, she noticed his slight demeanor and manner which does not belong to a guy raised in a poor family.
As someone from the HR department and graduated from a prestigious university majoring in psychology, she is able to get a glimpse of that person's personality through his simple actions and the way he speaks.
And she knew that the young man is not that simple as he looks.
