The process of killing five of the slimes might look easy but it certainly wasn't. For example, Keon can make five cards at a time but it doesn't mean he can always easily make those five cards

The burden between conjuring one card at a time versus five cards is big. Not to mention, Keon made two sets of five cards in succession. Just that alone gave him a bit of a headache

Nath wasn't in a better situation too as both his arms and mind suffered some fatigue. They literally need to compensate for their lack of numbers by using more mystic energy

Fortunately, due to their relentless assault, only two of the seven slimes remained. It wouldn't be that hard to kill both of them anymore

Nath retracted his swords using his aching arms and cross them in front of him to block the fire and water ball that was fired at him by the slimes

Since Nath occupied the slimes' attention, Keon didn't waste the chance and despite the mental fatigue, he still made two more cards that shot thick and sharp metals to the core of the slimes

Since slimes don't have that much defense except for the elements they are aligned with, the sharp metals successfully penetrated their bodies and destroyed their cores

After killing the seven slimes, the two panted heavily. It was such a short fight yet they already exhausted a huge chunk of their power

However, from the distance, both Gabe and Mady are still fighting the three Level 3 slimes. Two of them are fire slimes and the remaining one is a water slime

Because of the slimes' resistance to water and fire-type attacks, they still haven't died. Well, if Gabe and Mady exerted themselves just like Nath and Keon did, they will be able to kill these slimes

The problem was that they never know when a powerful foe will unexpectedly appear. Since Gabe and Mady are the strongest, they can't overuse their powers. Thus, they were only stalling for time when the other slimes are defeated

With the two attracting the slimes' 'aggro', as long as Keon and Nath defeated the weaker slimes, they can sneak attacks on the enemies

Hence, the reason why the two decided to kill the 7 slimes at a fast speed despite needing to exert quite a huge chunk of their power

The 3 Level 3 Slimes have few tentacles in their bodies that continuously spew out either fire and water. Although slimes are a weak race, Level 3 creatures are still not to be underestimated

Mady and Gabe dodge the attacks and they are safe but the same cannot be said to their surrounding. Multiple craters can be seen in the ground and the patches of grass are either wet or turning into ashes because of the fire

The destruction brought by the slimes made it so that no one can underestimate them even if they are weak compared to other races

Keon and Nath only rested for around ten seconds before they joined in the fight against the Level 3 Slimes

Keon made two cards and one of them sticks to Nath's body. The man's clothes and hair once again fluttered because of the winds and his speed increases as he charged at the slimes

As for Keon's remaining card, he threw it towards the only water slime. Since the slime has low intelligence and is occupied with attacking either Gabe or Mady, it didn't react when Keon's cards stick to its body

Keon controlled his card and its color changed into blue before sparks of electricity assaulted the slime's body. Although the slime is a Level 3 creature it doesn't mean that it is safe against attacks coming from Level 1 or Level 2 creatures. Just like how a Level 3 Human Mystic will still die if they are stabbed with a knife in the chest

Not all creatures are blessed by heavenly defenses and Keon's attack sure was effective

The tentacles of the slimes were swang wildly around as if the slime was experiencing great pain as its body trembled because of the electricity

The slime was forced to stop its attack and as always, Keon and Nath has a perfect teamwork

Nath decided to attack the slime that Keon weakened and his swords glowed with a brighter light. Using his swords, Nath stab the slime's body but he was met with a strong resistance

Nath can easily pierce the bodies of Level 2 and 1 slimes but this stronger slime was more tricky. Despite exerting all of his arm strength, he still wasn't able to destroy the slime's core

This is a result that Nath doesn't want and he jumped away while leaving his light swords in the slimes' body as the slime madly whipped its tentacles in his direction

Nath narrowly dodged the tentacles before clenching his fist. "Explode!" As soon as that word came out from his mouth, the light swords instantly exploded sending pieces of gooey slimes everywhere

The explosion destroyed the slime's core and killed it but before Nath can even celebrate, he saw two streaks of fire coming from his side. He just controlled his swords to explode and he wasn't able to react at that

Fortunately, Gabe made his move, a water whip wrapped in Nath's waist that pulled him away from the range of the fire

Nath looks at Gabe with teary eyes. "Waah! I knew it, you are really kind!" Nath tearfully exclaimed but Gabe doesn't have the intention to be chummy with him

"Focus, there are still two slimes"

The two remaining slimes continuously spew out fire from their tentacles causing the surrounding temperature to rise

"What do we do with that remaining slime? I doubt Nath and you don't have much strength left" Gabe asked Keon that undoubtedly have the best intelligence among them

Keon's face was already a bit pale from mental exhaustion and although Nath was still enthusiastic, he is also tired. His swords used up a huge chunk of his Mystic Energy yet he was forced to sacrifice them to kill one of the slimes

Gabe and Mady can use their strength to kill the remaining slimes but it would use more energy than they originally intended. Thus, Gabe decides to consult Keon and he was not disappointed

"The slimes have simple attack patterns. They only know how to spew out elemental attacks and these Level 3 Slimes are using their tentacles to send those attacks. Mady, restrain the slimes' tentacles and Gabe will deliver the killing blow" Keon instantly analyzed the situation and his teammates obeyed him without resistance

Mady user her lotus and from it, two streaks of fire came out that bound the tentacles of the slimes. The slimes have fire resistance and she won't easily be able to kill them with these but restraining them wasn't that much of a problem

Gabe's ring glowed with a bluish light and he holds out his hands in front of him. Two vortexes of water came out from his palm before he sends them towards the slimes

With Mady's fire restraining them, the slimes weren't able to dodge or block and the water vortex penetrated their bodies destroying their cores and finally killed them

Gabe was successful and the two fire slimes turned into another gooey puddle

As per their agreement, Keon immediately threw energy cores to the dead slimes. The slimes that he and Nath killed only manage to fill a single core with a bit of a surplus

It can be seen how hard this test is. Nath and Keon are already among the top yet after pushing themselves to kill 5 Level 2 Slimes and 2 Level 1 slime, the mystic energy was still not enough to fill one energy core

Well, a big reason for that is that slimes are weaker compared to other races and they also have a lower amount of mystic energy. Fortunately, the Level 3 Slimes managed to fill two energy cores with quite a lot of a surplus

Despite feeling a great amount of embarrassment, Keon and Nath still stored the filled energy core to their backpack as Mady and Gabe just won't agree to split the spoils of war. Well, as a result, they also need to help the two fill their own energy cores which is definitely much harder than filling Level 2 cores

Since two of the four are now tired, they don't have a choice but to retreat back to the perimeter of the fortress to recover. Staying in this area is dangerous as there are a huge number of slimes

The group they encountered already push Keon and Nath a bit too much was just a small group. What more if they need to fight stronger slimes?

However, despite the danger, Keon can feel that a real fight like that has great benefits for him. He can feel the barrier to the next level loosening up and he might breakthrough earlier than he had expected

Thus, Keon guided his team and avoided the slimes before settling down in one of the few trees they can see. The four rested their backs in the trees and in that way, they will have eyes in four different directions
