Kapitel 99: Chapter 15

Earth, Imperium of Man's colony nicknamed Atlantis...

A floating colony in the middle of the Mediterranean sea. This colony has already been spotted by the sea travellers sailing this sea.

They told stories of an island with a large dome shape glass covering it, pristine white walls, and a majestic architecture surpassing even that of the greeks.

The sailors who told this story are sometimes called insane, crazy, loosed screws, and many more. However, they knew in themselves that they're not crazy. They've seen it with their own two eyes! The palace of the god Poseidon!

The story about Atlantis has been around since the very beginning of the civilization of the greeks. They reached the farthest reaches of the world and going as far as to the land of silk, China.

Right now, this so-called "Palace of Poseidon" is on a festive mood. It's been officially the 49th millennium since they've settled here under the direct orders of the Emperor.

On the morning, they have gone to the church or a place of worship for the Emperor. The church has the towering pointy towers, like a cathedral as some of its general motif for design.

Inside are rows of comfortable benches for the worshippers to sit down and listen to the special sermon of na ecclesiarch via a video call.

The ecclesiarch who will give the sermon today is a high ranking one, he is on the rank of a Bishop, not exactly a "high" rank like those cardinals or even the head of the ecclesiarchy but it's fine.

People started to pour in as the staff of this church prepared for the mass, making sure everything is ready and will perform how it should be.

Time passed by and it's the time for mass, people sang songs of worship. They kneeled and begged for forgiveness from the bottom of their hearts.

While all of these are happening, the Citadel council is having a meeting, a particular neeting concerning the weird and unexplainable phenomenons that happened in the span of one week.

They're convening on a simple place with trees on the Citadel tower.

There, 8 races of vastly different aliens both in appearance and demeanor are meeting dor something shocking.

"Councillors, a certain observation post of us stationed on the south west have detected massive anomalies on both the time space continuum. It's like as if a black hole suddenly appeared and scarred it." said the Asarian councillor which made some gasp, some confused, while some didn't react.

"But that's illogical councillor. How can a black hole appear out of nowhere? Not to say unscientific!" asked and pointed out an amphibious warm blooded race with an indescribable face called Salarians.

"It really is what it is councillor, our observation posts hasn't failed us, besides we have the nearest observation post that can accurately detect the anomaly. Trust in our findings councillor. We will provide you the full data later." said the Asarian councillor which made the Salarian clench his jaw tightly.

As they discuss about this, the Asarians slowly gave more and more information which made the other councillors' frown become. more unsightly each second that passes by.

She then said that microscopic debris of what seemed like battleships are salvaged. They're turned into almost fine dust, nigh impossible to be discerned from space dust.

The Salarian councillor almost destroyed the holographic module in front of him in anger. The other species are dim witted. They can't compare to their minds, yet now, this female suddenly said that they've discovered a battlefield that's literally curved! The energy you need to even curve the space itself is already too high, not to say those people curved it permanently, leaving a scar on the reality itself.

"N-no! It can't be! How can a weapon be capable of influencing time and space itself! Those that can do this are basically the gods!" shouted the now angry Salarian, refusing to believe all the data in the hologram in front of him.

"If they really have what you claim to be "the power of the gods" then even us, the Turian wouldn't be their enemy. No, we all here combined are not their enemy. This, this citadel is but another hill they need to take. We must rapidly develop!" sais the Turian councillor while tapping on the table in front of him.

"That's why I propose we strengthen the whole Citadel as whole to prepare against them. Research countermeasures to combat them. Whoever those that got dusted must be studied extensively to see how to deal with the enemy. We need to unite against this common enemy or else, we all dies." proposed the Asarian councillor which made the other races fall into deep thought, weighing the pros and cons of this proposal. Her voice are that of a determined woman, wanting to accomplish something in all cost. As if, she fights for something she promised.

The Asarian councillor then stood up and motioned her fingers as if pushing something down on the table. Her eyes are full of determination, showing that this "gods" wouldn't faze her.

"We will stare at the abyss, and we'll make them blink!"

...

Asari, a civilization made up of only female. They're second only to the Protheans. They have a fairly powerful military, economy, technology, and many more.

Though not exactly the most powerful in all aspects combined, they are still a formidable civilization.

They have great minds at the forefront of their advancements, but even these great minds are stunned and some even went crazy after seeing the complete data regarding that of the "incident".

Compared to the Imperium, the Asari is nothing, but to the local denizens of this galaxy, they're really powerful. They also have countless observation posts scattered all throughout the galaxy. So it's not really that surprising if they're the first one to detect that anomaly.

The day after the detection of the anomaly the smartest minds immediately tried to make sense of this mess. They wanted to try and explain how did this happen, how can a space around an object suddenly curve randomly.

But as they are on a pinch later that day, another set of information came, it's about microscopic sized debris that the search and salvage team managed to detect, albeit rather inaccurately due to technological limitations.

The debris are theorized to be that of a battleship as the reconstruction program ran it and it vaguely showed the face of a weird looking starship.

This piece of information caused massive. uproar on the Asarian scientific community. People went mad, they went crazy. Some already went to the temples to request for forgiveness before ending their lives.

It's absolutely chaotic...

Even the dullest of the minds of scholars knew that a battle happened there. That exact place where the curving of space occurred was a battlefield days ago.

They felt small, they felt they're nothing but an insect in front of those giants. People with the capabilities of curving the space itself is but a monster in front of their eyes. And them having a battle? Then it should be something absolutely unforgivable that it pushed both sides to fight.

On their level, they should place logic first before their emotions as they literally have the ability to influence reality.

The Asarian councillor had a close scientist friend who went mad after seeing the complete data...

Days ago, on the embassy of the Asari at the Citadel...

"What? She went mad?" asked the councillor to the commando in front of her with shock on her face. She's expecting her friend to come here for a visit and have a little chit chat but here she is, hearing that her friend went mad.

"Yes your excellency, she specifically went mad after seeing the report of the salvage team regarding that anomaly." replied the commando with a poker face and. straight tone.

"Where is she? She's suppose to arrive today am I right?" asked the councillor in concern for the safety of her friend.

"Yes, she's at her room. She's also given medications to calm her down. I think you can visit her right now." said the commando which made the councillor immediately rush forward and run to her friend's room without a care for her image.

And before she knew it, she has already barged inside the room, holding her friend's hand tightly.

Her friend is sitting on the bed, looking at the distant with that lifeless eyes. She didn't even react in the touch of the councillor as she kept on murmuring something between her mouth.

"A-are you okay?" asked the councillor amwith tearing eyes. Of course this question is a rhetorical one. The councillor then clutched the hand even more tightly waiting for the reply of her friend.

"We have committed a grave offense. They, they are not like us. They do not see us as equals, we are but ants before them." the scientist replied with a flat tone which made the councillor look at her in confusion.

"We-We tried to peer into them, we tried to see if them as our equals. When it's all at face value that we, are nothing but ants."

"They? Who are they?" asked the councillor, getting worried about what thing she might reply.

"They, the people outside, they're gods, they're a wrathful gods. The civilization in which that debris are from offended them and we might be next. Repent! Repent and be saved!" the scientist suddenly stood up amd ahouted as the councillor was caught off guard and thus loosening her grip on the hand of the scientist.

"W-what are you saying? Y-you're imagining things!" rebutted the councillor in fear as the scientist slowly walked to the balcony of her room.

"No! No matter how impossible it is! I can say they're there! There can't just be a random occurrence of a curving on space! Something should happen there! And you know what happened there, what happened to those sinners? They're hit by the wrath of the gods!" shouted the scientist in anger as her eyes suddenly turned bloodshot.

The councillor tried to think of a suitable rebuttal but she can't do it.

"I am irredeemable, I have offended them for I tried to understand who they are. Their wrath will descend upin me! The gods has now set their eyes upon me! I have caused my doom by looking at that!" the scientist then suddenly slammed her head on the glass door, immediately cracking it and piercing her head with the shards.

The councillor was stunned as she suddenly fell down from her position while looking horrified of the scene in front of her. The commandos on the entrance of the door moved immediately to try and save the scientist but all are for naught.

"I... have stared...at the abyss" the scientist still tried to speak even with her bubbling mouth full of blood while looking at her friend.

Her last words will forever haunt the councillor who just stood there, watching her with a shock look of horror.

"And the abyss stared..."

"back!"
