Which is why Eve spent an entire month researching how to make her nanites dull the pain when necessary without taking it out entirely—a complete lack of a sense of pain was a problem of its own. Now, after hours of what felt like an elaborate torture even with this upgrade, Eve wondered how other mothers ever did it.
