Klautz had no idea whether he should call such an act naivety or kindness or worse having no sense of the value of money distributing it to others carelessly, but Klautz was having a nice time reaping the benefits of it.

Had he not, he wouldn't have been paid so high. The other newbies hardly earned 100 -200 gold. Thus if Klautz refuses her offer at this point, not only would he not get the 5000 gold but also his daily pay might vaporize into thin air making earning quite harder considering his constraints.
