"LETS SEE IF YOU KIDS ARE WORTH ANYTHING!"
I looked over and saw two people. One was a guy wearing a robe, he is probably a mage like Merlin. The other person was this big, beefy, muscular guy who was so tall I almost thought that he must of taken some sort of drug to get that tall. He must be the one testing on the warrior section of the test.
"ALL YOU KIDS LINE UP!" The big guy said.
A lot of the kids were scared seeing such a big person. They immediately lined up. I walked away from my corner and proceeded to the back of the line. I turned around and noticed that Sephina was right behind me. I ignored this for now as it's not important.
I looked ahead to see how they were testing the kids. I saw kids placing their hand over a crystal of sorts. However the crystal never lit up. After a couple seconds they would send the kid aside and move on to the next one. The line kept proceeding until it was my turn. I put my hand over the crystal. I really don't know what to expect. I wonder if being a reincarnated person will factor in to me being a mage or not. The crystal never lit up, it seems I have no talent as a mage. That's fine, I will just be a warrior then. I was sent over to the area the other kids who had been tested. Sephina who was behind me had no talent either.
They kept testing the kids until there were none left. It seems none of us have talent to be a mage. The guy in the robe looked unsurprised because mage talents are rare. After the last kid tested they started to set up a area for sparring. The warrior was going to test us after all. Now they don't expect anything out of us. They most likely just want to see if there is anyone with abnormal potential. The only real test is probably the power level test.
The warrior stood up and shouted
"I WILL BE THE ONE TESTING YOU FOR YOUR WARRIOR TEST. I HAVE A POWER LEVEL OF 137! DON'T THINK YOU CAN BEAT ME!"
After announcing that I felt relief flood me. If he only had a power level of 137 then this would be easy. I doubt he has the skill to make up the power level difference.
He started calling kids forward one by one. Most of the kids only lasted a couple seconds. After all they are still young. However the warrior keeps acting like he's all mighty and strong with just a power level of 137. Let's show him different.
When it was my turn I walked up to the warrior. He handed me a wooden training sword while he carried one himself. We stood a few yards apart. The guy in the robe started a countdown.
"3, 2, 1, Go!"
The warrior lunged at me only thinking about beating me fast. He probably was not happy having to beat kids over and over so let's change it up and have a kid beat him. I won't be holding back. I stepped backward and brought my sword over my head then swung my sword in a downward strike. The warrior who lunged at me was unable to dodge the strike and got hit in the head. He fell to the ground with wide eyes. It seems he felt my strength. He got up and took a step back.
"Who are you? How is a kid so strong? What's your power level?" He asked.
"My name is Alastair. My power level is 218 and I am strong because I am a genius and I train." I replied
"2-2-218!!! That's impossible!" He exclaimed.
"Judging by your reaction I can assume I passed the warrior test and power level test?"
"That's more then enough. We would be glad to have someone like you in our military."
"Good."
" I stepped to the side. He still seemed to be in shock but eventually he recovered and finished the other tests. They still tested my power level using an orb to confirm I was as strong as I said I was. I am guessing this is what they use for the power level test. For the other kids it was required to have at least a power level of 15 to pass the test. Sephina passed along with that noble brat from earlier. Several others passed however a good amount failed because they did not have enough power. After they made an announcement they grouped us by potential. I was in my own class however in order to keep me interacting with others they grouped me with a couple other kids including Sephina.
They were also going to give me extra training equipment and resources to allow me to train more and get stronger. I was in the trading yard examining my equipment when Sephina approached me.
"Please train me so I can get stronger!" She shouted.
What? Did she just ask me to train her. Did I impress her that much by beating bullies and the warrior during the recruitment? Well, with the holy war coming I could use another ally. I would be at a disadvantage if I fought by myself. Perhaps I can train her to be strong enough.
"I can train you on one condition." I said.
"What's the condition?" She asked.
"When I need your help be my ally."
"Eh, what do you mean?" She seemed confused.
"When the time comes you will know what it means." I said.
"Ok, I accept. So please make me as strong as you!" She said
It will be a little tough training someone who does not have an enchanted growth rate but I am sure I can do it. My Plot Armor skill might even help her because she is technically in my party now. I mean, every main character has their own little friend group that fights with them right? The plot armor sometimes effects them too even if they have no talent. Maybe that will happen here.
Well, whatever the case it. I am going to have to train her. So let's get started!
I am only able to post one chapter today. There will be a 10 year time skip now. There will be one more chapter about Alastair but then it will switch back to Noah who will wake up from hibernation and learn about what happend to his world. Also keep donating power stones. The more you donate the more motivation I have and the more I will post. Keep reading my story!
