When he arrived, he went straight to his apartment and found it empty. Something that he was expecting, hence, he chose to come here than come home to Jess's apartment where Lucille, Macao, and Soraya would be waiting for him. 

After what he saw in those videos of Steven in his captivity, he felt the need to wash his skin. The disgust was like an alive insect crawling on his skin. By washing his skin, he was projecting that he was removing those images of Steven that were clinging in his head because he didn't want to bring them when he kissed his daughter and his girlfriend tonight.
