Kapitel 157: If Nothing Else, I Look Out For Family

Eden did feel better after steak and cheesecake. Feeling Jonah's affection for her pouring through his kisses helped too. She was sure she would be able to go back to work on her A-game tomorrow since she wasn't drowning in confusing and painful thoughts anymore. 

The rest of the evening passed uneventfully until about 9:30 PM when she was getting ready for bed. She ran into Troy, who had barely gotten home, outside of the bathroom since it was right next to his bedroom door. 

She felt a bit awkward because he had to deal with her family drama yesterday despite not being involved. Now would be a good time to apologize to him and thank him for sticking it out. 

"Thanks for helping me with Tyler yesterday," Eden said before she lost her courage. "I'm sorry you had to deal with all of that but I appreciate you not leaving me to handle it alone."
