Kapitel 147: I...Don't Know

"I'd commit to something much worse than dealing with your mother if you asked me to," Jonah said seriously. "So go ahead and hold me to it. I won't let you down."

Eden immediately crawled her way onto his lap and buried her face in his neck. She really was worried about having to go to the wedding alone if she needed this level of physical comforting. 

But why did she think he would back out on her when he had already promised to go? Did she think he was that unreliable? 

"Thanks," she replied in a muffled voice. 

Jonah wrapped his arms around her and kissed the part of her head that he could reach. "You're very welcome."

He would find a way to prove to her that he was never going anywhere at some point. He knew she had been hurt before but he would never let anyone else hurt her again. Not on his watch. He didn't realize how soon he would have to put his conviction into practice though.
