Evanna sheathed her sword and started readying a bow. Her hands trembled as the giant beast was almost close to the icy lake. Would it blow fire? None, besides Axel, had a shield.
"That will never cut through dragon scales," Garrett grunted, pulling his overly large seraph blade out.
Evanna knew he meant well, but she was unable to control her voice as she snapped back. "I didn't intend to hit its scales." Garrett glanced at her then his lips twitched into a smile.
"Spread out!" Arawn commanded; everyone besides Evanna followed his command without complaint, figuring it was the best procedure.
The princess remained where she was, aiming her arrow and taking slow controlled breaths even as the dragon's large claws looked as though they might grab her face and squish her. That was when she released the arrow, knocking another three simultaneously in the same direction.
