Kapitel 124: Chapter 124

Darius had thought he would be at peace once he met his wife in the underworld, even if he only got to embrace her once. However, that couldn't be any farther from the truth. Returning to the human realm without her was torture, and that was nothing compared to remembering her expression when she realized she couldn't leave the underworld. Her tears haunted him more than the thought that he had not been there for her when she needed him the most. 

Ever since he first met Destrian, he had wanted to be there for him, but he was quickly realizing that was easier thought of than done. He could be there physically the entire day and tend to all his needs but each new day made it more obvious just what the boy needed the most—his mother—and that was what he couldn't give his son yet. It hurt him now more than ever.
