Kapitel 6: The story of the adopted one
It is another day and another story that I can tell. Different house, a different person and a different timeline. There is a girl named Sarah, and she is also a grade 10 student and also the Secretary of the Student Council. She is now getting ready for school, she already has her uniform that contains a skirt and a blouse, her hair is tied up, and she is ready to go. The bus arrived and honked 2 times. As she hurried downstairs, she saw her father and mother watching television. Their house is clean but in her kitchen, bills are piled up. Apparently, the parents of Sarah’s best friend are helping them so it won’t be much of a problem. They turned their back to see Sarah was now going, her mother got up and approached her and fixed her appearance. Her mother is now in the 50’s, she looks like a queen to Sarah but in reality they are poor.
“Have a great day honey.” Her mother said
“See you later mom.” Sarah said and left the house
As Sarah enters the school bus, she is thinking, or should I say remembering.
She remembered herself as Little Sarah is sitting in a bed, in a long green room with many beds and children. The children are playing with their toys. There are 3 adults entering the room, 1 boy and 2 girls, and seeing the children playing, they are really happy about this, the fact that the children are enjoying themselves.
“Ok kids, dinner time.” The male adult announced.
“It’s fried chicken.” The girl adult added
The kids shouted in joy and ran outside the door except Sarah. They saw her not standing up.
“Just go, I will talk to her.” The last of the three adults said.
The other two left while the last one approached Sarah. She remembers how she found Sarah and what she had said.
“Hey Sarah, is there something wrong honey?” The adult asked
“I miss my parents.” Sarah answered
The adult felt so bad she remembered what Sarah said to her.
She remembered Sarah on the streets, she was walking to the orphanage until she saw a girl that was dirty and homeless. She approached that girl and knelt down.
She asked “What’s your name?”
The homeless girl answered “Sarah.”
“Where are your parents?” She asked Sarah again, but this time no answer but she cried.
“Oh no. It’s ok, tell you what, I am gonna feed you, wanna come with me?” The adult offered
“No, I wanna find my parents!” Sarah shouted and ran away
A few hours later. The adult was in the alleyways and saw Sarah lying down on a cardboard. The adult had a plate of food with a spoon and fork and approached Sarah and put the food down in front of her.
“Come on, eat up. I know you are hungry.” The adult said happily, but Sarah is not moving
“You know I will stay here until you eat up.” The adult added but she heard Sarah’s snore, which made her fall down in shock that she did not know Sarah was sleeping.
“You know what.” The adult thought to herself. She picks up the food and Sarah leaves.
The next day Sarah is in a strange place, it is a long green room with beds and children playing, but beside her is the same adult with food for her.
“Good morning, eat up.” The adult said happily while giving Sarah the food
“Where am I?” Sarah asked
“Your new home until someone can adopt you. But for now, enjoy here.” The adult answered happily
“But, where are my parents?” Sarah asked
“I cannot answer that because I don’t know.” The adult answered
And right now, she is sitting besides Little Sarah on the bed, talking to her.
“I know it hurts that your parents are gone, but they are counting on you to be strong, with or without them.” The adult said while Sarah was crying.
“I miss them so much.” Sarah said while she was still crying.
“You will find them soon.” The adult said while hugging Sarah.
A few days later, a lot of married couples are leaving with their new children, but Sarah was left out and alone. Not until the same adult came.
“Wanna come home with me?” She asked
“With you? Really?” Sarah said
“Yes.” She answered, this made Sarah really happy and ran towards her. They held hands and left the orphanage.
And finally in present time, Sarah is in her classroom while thinking about her real parents and how they are now. And it was now hometime. Before she left the school she inserted a piece of paper in a box that said “Vote.” in the library
While she is about to leave, Sarah hears a sound that someone is approaching her. It was her best friend Ariana.
“Hey girl, wanna come with us?” Ariana asked
“What are you three gonna do now?” Sarah asked
“Well we are going to the mall after we dress up.” Ariana answered
“Oh, ok then.” Sarah said
“Good, meet us at 3 PM at the Capa Mall.” Ariana said, as she left she added, “Bye Sarah!”
“Bye Ariana” Sarah replied and left the school.
A few minutes later she went home. Her mother was in front and told her to follow Sarah, they were inside Sarah’s room and they started to talk while Sarah was dressing up.
“How is school honey?” She asked
“Oh it's good, me and my friends are going to the mall.” Sarah answered
“That is nice honey.” She replied happily
“What do you wanna talk about?” Sarah asked
“It's about your parents, I think it is time for us to find them.” She answered, this made Sarah in shock. She had a tear in her eye and hugged her mother and started to cry. As she was crying, her father was outside the room and heard Sarah crying, if he wanted Sarah to love him, the only thing that he thinks he can do is to find her parents, besides, he is a police officer.
“Thank you mom.” Sarah said
And you know what, after all this time I was typing this it was a story that Sarah was telling to the others at the cafeteria.
“And that is my story.” Sarah said
“Wow, I can’t believe you are adopted and you do not know what happened to your parents after.” Fred replied
“Yeah, lucky that you have nice parents. Unlike mine.” Ariana said
“Wait what?” Drake said in confusion
“Let me tell you my story.” Ariana said
