Kapitel 46: Inferno
Orochimaru woke up the next day at 4:00 AM. The previous day he has searched 1/3rd of the mountain but found nothing noteworthy.
But the number of carcasses of danger beast he has increased significantly. It can be said that he was faster than the whole group he killed by a large margin.
It's not that he is more powerful than the whole group combined. But he is certainly more proficient in killing than the group.
As he is a speed-type ninja most of his fights did not take much time. So, his fights are efficient, fast, and lethal.

It's a new day.
Today the candidate again started his sightseeing.
Yes, sightseeing, from the way of events are taking place it didn't look like the candidate is taking an exam.
If I didn't see danger beasts occasionally I also would've thought that I am not protecting a candidate but stalking a civilian.
But I have to say that the candidate is full of surprises. At such an age he is powerful enough to fight high class 3 danger beasts easily and has enough wisdom to take down a group consisting of chunnins easily using tricks and poison.
I was not disdainful of his method, instead, I fully appreciate his IQ. Instead, if he takes every battle head-on I might be more disdainful of him.
I had expected this task to be troublesome and boring.
But it seems that not even one day can't be normal in his presence.
I would've doubted that they are wild beasts instead of danger beasts if not seeing chakra used by beasts during fights.
His fights look so swift and effortless. It looks like an art instead of a fight to me.
It looked like he had rehearsed the fight with beast beforehand.

He found nothing even after searching for two days. He was near the peak of the mountain but he found nothing to pique his interest.
No treasure, no wisdom beast. Even the danger beast have seemed to have vanished as he got higher.
Today was the last day of the exam, so has to end his search tomorrow.
He only has one more day to find anything noteworthy.
As if his rambling irritated the world he finally saw something different from normal.
A hole. Arriving near the hole he noticed that the place is hollow and deep from the bottom and it has irregular turns.
His sixth sense was telling him that it was not a simple place and he should search it.
Orochimaru stuck his foot on the sides and ran under gravity at fast speed. Cracks formed under his feet as he zoomed downward.

He suddenly opened purple wings as he reached a maximum speed to glide downwards.
He changed direction regularly as the path was irregular
He was sure that the anbu was not able to follow as he was flying while he has to use rock walking.
After what felt like one minute he noticed something hanging on walls and next turn.
And I was able to identify them easily. They are danger beasts called sonic bats.
The sonic bats are danger beasts living in colonies. They use high pitched voice to attack the target.
Covering his thumb and finger in chakra he snapped
<KIA: Silence>
*Screech**Screech*
Noticing Orochimaru the bats started screaming in loud voice.
But Orochimaru didn't hear anything due to him affecting his receptors related to hearing. Orochimaru zoomed past them leisurely and still flew downwards.
As he passed through them his wings suddenly fired a large number of purple projectiles and killing the bats in the process.
As he moved downwards Orochimaru saw a horrifying sight. The area at the bottom was filled with crimson beetles.
Crimson beetles are also danger beast living in a group.
It was not unheard of them killing a jonin Once their number exceeds a certain extent.
Orochimaru has to kill them immediately.
Orochimaru formed a platform at some distance beneath him using star chakra and started forming hand signs.

A clone appeared beneath it used speed burst using 20% chakra and descended at high speed.

At the same time, Orochimaru's next set of hand signs also completed.

The inferno descended upon the area beneath covered with the beetles.

It was a really beautiful spectacle but also equally lethal.
Sometimes beauty is most lethal and in the ninja world, one should be wary of beauty instead of appreciating it.
