Kapitel 48: Chapter 48: Production Department
The next day, Adam along with Arthus and Jaya come to the place where they are assigned to as members of the production department.
Earlier, they were informed by an errand boy that they had been arranged under one of the directors of the base called Grandpa Sam. Though the trio didn't have any idea who the old man is, they have no other thoughts about it.
Even if they are under an antagonistic director, according to the information they have, someone of Arthus and Jaya's caliber is already a terrifying level.
After leisurely walking towards where they are told to go, they then stopped in front of a large plot of land with few installed big tents which probably served as sheds.
The place way too backward in contrast to Adam's expectation when hearing about research and scientists but thinking about it, they are already in the apocalypse and a lot of convenient materials should be hard to get.
Having the set ups like these should already be pretty good.
" Are you Adam? " After standing in a few minutes outside the wired mesh gate which divide the land from the public, an old man wearing a kind smile approached Adam.
" Are you Grandpa Sam? Hello, I am Adam. "
" Indeed, you are truly young and already a very powerful awakened. The old man is relieved to see such a promising young man. Hohoho. "
Grandpa Sam is as cordial as ever but he then cast his gaze to the two escorts that Adam had brought.
" Is sir Arthus here to sent young Adam? "
Sir Arthus is a powerful awakened. He should have something else to do, right? He's probably only here to send young Adam.
" No. Grandpa Sam, Arthus and Jaya is here to work too. " Adam said enthusiastically.
" Work?! But.. "
" It's fine. Arthus may not look like it but he is actually very reliable. Jaya is even more! "
I'm not questioning how reliable they are! Sir Arthus is a powerful awakened and should be enjoying life as others do! Why is he here to babysit?
Yes, babysit. Sir Arthus should be serving Adam and he don't think the big man would be doing all the dirty work here. Is he perhaps a brilliant researcher or scientists too?
Compare to becoming manual labor, Grandpa Sam would rather believe Arthus is just a buffed man who is also a researcher.
" Oh, I didn't expect Sir Arthus to be someone into research too. " Grandpa Sam boldly speaking his guess.
" Ahmm.. Grandpa Sam, Arthus is here to help in manual labor too. "

" Look at his muscles! Nothing should pose any problem here for him. " Adam said as he positively endorse Arthus brilliant side.
A manpower like his Arthus should be very popular in any construction team.
" I-t seems so. Well let's introduce you to your work here as members of the department. "
Grandpa Sam then lead the three around the plantation where Adam wanted to be.
As members of the production department, his works involve mainly on the seeds that he can produce to grow edible "mutated" apples.
In other words, Adam had the freest work and everything depends on him. He don't need to write reports or even record any changes because someone is already assigned to do it.
Adam only need to plant and explained some processes to others in the department. Also, he needs to make sure that the plants survived and everything is done.
Nothing else! Everything is as simple as it is.
And knowing his ability, Adam can be idle as he want in the plantation site.
Anyway, judging from everyone here, none should dare to trouble him.
Adam then took out ten seeds from his space and show it to Grandpa Sam.
" Grandpa Sam, these are the current seeds that I can produce. Would you like to check them? "
After handing the seeds over, the old man then gave a serious look to the mutated seeds.
" Is it true that these seeds can bear fruit in just five days? "
" Yes! I guarantee it. "
" Good! We already had a large plot of land reserved. It should have been used to plant staple foods but since we are unable to reproduce it yet, we can use it instead for the mutated apples. "
Adam trio and Grandpa Sam, along with some researchers and laborers, went to the allotted space and immediately planted the seeds.
Some researchers are busy writing something in their notebooks and Adam don't care about them.
It would be too awkward idling around while these people are busily doing there parts.
" [ summon: Abyssal Silver Skeletons ] "
Adam summoned 10 silver skeletons and arranged some manual works for them to do.
Other people seeing 10 tier 3 advance skeletons working as laborers could only took a deep breath seeing the scene.
It's real!
They had been doubtful that an awakened could actually summoned an army of skeletons. For them, such ability would be too exaggerated!
Imagine when he become stronger. The summons should be stronger too. Though they are not sure, far or less, the condition should be near their conjectures.
" Grandpa Sam, you can arrange works for these skeletons. They will follow your instructions. "
" Thank you Adam. Your ability is really convenient. " Grandpa Sam is really amazed on Adam's ability. Even he, a tier 4 advance awakened can feel that an ability like this is beyond comprehension.
Being an awakened is truly a mystery!
" Follow me Adam and I'll show you your working station. Whenever you're done on your task in here, you can stay there to pass time or do other things. "
Grandpa Sam then lead the three to a tent. The inside of the tent is quite large but when Arthus went inside, everything become so cramped.
Grandpa Sam is even embarrassed seeing a powerful tier 4 awakened is being treated this way and can only stay in this small space.
But what can he do! The guys is just too huge!
" I'm sorry if the place is too small sir Arthus. I'll try to ask if they have another bigger tent available than this one. "
" It's okay Grandpa Sam, Arthus won't mind this. Right Arthus? "
" ...Right... "
After settling the three, Grandpa Sam returned to doing his task.
Although Adam is very cordial and kind, he can't stand standing in front of Sir Arthus for too long. The pressure he can feel from the knight is too strong!
As a tier 4 advance scribe, he is more sensitive compare to other people in the department.
Sir Arthus is unfathomable.
In the whole base, no one should last a single move.

In a certain unreclaimed city in the northern region, Eskelon, the male metal controller zombie and the variant zombie dog is staging an insidious move.
The northern region is known to be ruled by the Army but in reality, the human bases in their is actually very few and most cities are still occupied by the zombies.
The army had just established a very tall wall to isolate these zombies that's why the remaining humans on the region had survived.
Apparently, in the three forces, the northers region had the most human population.
Compare to the other huge forces which only have single cities under them, the northern region were divided by the army into smaller bases to support their large numbers.
Due to the large number, the northern region also faces the greatest food crisis and they are the most adamant in exploring the southern region to feed thousands of mouth.
Back to the scene.
Seeing thousands of zombies being gathered on the streets, Eskelon roared giving a very strong momentum which made all the zombies present stiff.
Then slowly, they turned their gaze towards Eskelon and gathered as if a command is being transmitted to them.
Even though Eskelon is not a commander variant, as a tier 5 intermediate zombie, he still had a means to stage a zombie tide.
Though he can't make a very organized zombie tide, making the zombie indiscriminately attack a target is enough.
Pouring numbers is still an effective method for zombies. Even if there are loss, so what!
The three zombies had decided to gather all the zombies in nearby cities and siege the Pandora Base!

Not enough! The zombies are way too few!
Just these number won't even be enough to shake the iron wall.
They need more!

More zombies, more, more.

The variant zombie dog made a long howl and took the lead of the zombie tide and strode to another zombie infested city.
The cities are very large and the distance to travel is way too far. Guiding these thousands of zombies will be a very long process.
With their speed, to fully launched a giant tide will take too long but the zombies are not in a hurry.
Time for them is not essential. Even for Eskelon, the concept of time is very vague. All he think is to make a tide. He don't need to worry when he should do the siege and just focus on making a huge group.

All the zombie then followed the variant zombie dog and their goal is very clear.
Move to another city.
Gather more zombies.
And when they are enough, attack the base.
