"I--I--" he watched her as she close the bottle back carefully then tucked it away in her apron.
A swift slap swept across his face and he tumbled to the floor. She pulled him up roughly, his shirt in her tight fist, almost ripping as a result.
This made him feel even smaller than he looked.
He trembled in fear.
She moved her head closer to him, making their foreheads touch, while she looked straight in his eyes from under her eyebrows.
"You haven't even paid up your debt and you want to die?" She snarled, her voice cold, her breath smelt like herbs.
She liked to think that she was a vegetarian... sometimes.
"On my bar floor? Who did you expect me to pay to clear your worthless body? Is your corpse going to pay all that you owe me?!"
"I--" he tried to speak but words deserted him.
She tossed him roughly to the floor, satisfied.
