"It's impossible for you to even get out of there, so how the fuck would you have gotten to Edison's room and blown it up?" Zafik said before he paused when he heard footsteps approaching. He had learned those footsteps and he knew that they belonged to someone else. 

Maybe Zhurielle had come to shut him, or maybe Zuhair would finally show her face to her old friend, too, right? But was Zafik ever an old friend or was he another bastard that Zuhair Merdel had to take out for things to work well? 

It was impossible to tell really where the two stood, because right now, as Zuhair walked down the stairs in the form of Zhurielle, Zafik instantly sat up, whispering to the young Wynter about their next chat, when the woman was gone.
