Furthermore, I don't think Maitreya is so incapable that she would allow him to interfere completely with the River of Time. 

'Additionally, the River of Time is required to eliminate resistance from the Everlasting Empyreans. That would explain why nothing is wrong with it, but what about the River of Fate?'

Wang Wei was not arrogant enough to think Supreme Unity was not strong enough to interfere in the affairs of fate. Recent events have shown him how powerful Half-Step Transcendents are, and Supreme Unity is of the lowest tier. So, he analyzed the situation, trying to deduce any logical or illogical explanation.
