Evangeline's feet padded on the ground, expression calm. Leo was in stride behind her, his footsteps were nonexistent. She could not hear them. Purple eyes gazed back at the younger boy, he had grown up taller than she had expected him. His build was large, frame dauntingly large—a perfect knight.
"I'm glad she woke up," Leo spoke, breaking the silence.
"Yes," Evangeline pressed a hand against her chest. The crippling anxiety that had consumed her when she had seen Lumielle in a comatose state felt oddly chagrining. She remembered wailing at his feet. Now, there was something in the air, it was an awkward affliction.
The beautiful pink gemstone glimmered in the light, blue cerulean crystals glittering around it. "I apologize," Leo finally spoke up, "About the way I treated you. I should have been. . ." he faded off.
