Kapitel 64: White Swordsman 11

Xuan Li stared at the lightning wolf, his feet slightly crouched, as he prepared for an attack. Now Li has never fought an animal before but knows some fighting techniques his grandfather taught him. Unlike a normal person facing an animal, Li doesn't feel scared at all since he is confident that the wolf wouldn't kill him.

In fact, he feels more upset that the wolf won't be able to kill him.

'At least I'll experience what it's like to actually fight an animal. Okay, you got this Li' He thought.

The wolf dashed to Li, leaving a trail of sparks. His speed was really fast, thanks to its lightning attribute that Li could only see the wolf once it was right next to him.

Li raised his hands to block and the wolf tried to bite his hands to rip them off.

However, instead of Li bleeding from the bite, the wolf's teeth shattered upon impact with his body, causing it to back off from Li quickly in pain.

The wolf's mouth was covered in blood as it whimpered from the extreme pains of having its teeth destroyed. The lightning around its body disappeared and its eyes were starting to show tears.

Instead of trying to fight again, it turned around with the intent to run away!

It bolted away from Li, leaving a trail of sparks, but before it could get far, Qi Yuan's figure appeared in front of it. Qi Yuan kicked the wolf back to Li "You have to beat that kid if you want to leave."

Though the wolf couldn't speak to humans, it could roughly understand Qi Yuan's intentions and began to regret trying to hunt these two monsters.

With its teeth shattered and constant pain in its mouth, the wolf could only use its claws for combat now but this time, he'll be more careful.

Charging his claws with electricity, the wolf dashed towards Li at insane speeds but instead of blocking, Li tried to slash at the wolf with his dagger which missed. The wolf appeared behind Li, it stretched its claws and used its electricity to create a lightning claw, extending its reach. It slashed with his lightning claw the back of Li which only caused Li to feel a shock but he did not bleed nor show any visible wounds.

Since the wolf created electric claws, its real claws didn't actually hit Li so they weren't damaged. However, the wolf was completely lost on how to defeat this unmanageable foe.

The two continued their fight or more like Li was constantly hit by the wolf's attack repeatedly. So far, Li could not land a hit on the wolf, which infuriated him.

"I don't have all day you know?" Qi Yuan commented on the sidelines.

"I know!" Li retorted as his frustrations increased 'This wolf is toying with me! Come on Li, focus.'

From its various attacks, the wolf could tell that his opponent had no way of actually hitting him and found Li to be very slow. But, it couldn't actually hurt Li and it couldn't escape because of Qi Yuan.

The two were at a standstill.

Li closed his eyes.

'Grandpa, I'm going to give your ridiculous techniques a shot, okay? Please work.'

'How was it again? Calm your mind, breathe slowly, try to feel my body and the air around me...'

Li began to reminisce about his memories with his grandfather and one of his past time teachings. He made Xuan Li go around their house with a blindfold because he wanted Li to use his other senses more. However, Li never took them seriously and every time he fell or hit something, he would get more annoyed.

So instead of trying to follow his grandpa's teaching of using his other senses like hearing, touch and sixth sense, he decided to memorise the structure of his house and the variety of obstacles like vase, chairs, sofa etc.

He used his extraordinary memory to get around the house multiple times, each time he got more familiar with the paths than before.

However, this time, he wasn't sure if he could cheat his way out of this so he truly tried to use his other senses.

The lightning wolf, seeing Li close his eyes, dashed around Li in different directions and bombarded him with attacks from different directions with his electric claw. But Li stood motionless as he took all those attacks from the wolf.

Seeing Li's motionless state, Qi Yuan began to pay more attention as he wondered what he would do.

Being barraged by electric attacks really threw off Li's concentration but he still remained calm, trying to focus harder on his other senses.

*strzz*

The attacks continued and Li made no progress in enhancing his other senses that he was about to give up this ridiculous eye closing technique. However, as if a lightbulb turned on above his head, he noticed something about the wolf.

The wolf had an attack pattern! The wolf kept attacking in a certain sequence each time!

Noticing this, Li began putting his efforts in memorising the wolf' pattern but his eyes remained closed, in case the wolf would change or stop attacking.

'right...'

'forward...'

'back'

'right...'

'left...'

'He repeated after left!'

Li let the wolf continue attacking, just to make sure he got his pattern correct.

Next, he began to count how long it would take for the wolf's attack to reach his body.

'1,2,3 seconds..'

'1,2,3,4,5 seconds'

He counted for every single attack and recounted when the pattern repeated to make sure it was constant.

Though it wasn't completely constant with timing, there was only a second difference usually.

To improve his chances of landing his attack, as he probably only has one chance to surprise the wolf, he began to visualise the wolf itself like its body, claws and reach it would have with its electric claws.

Li was very fortunate the wolf was being quite cautious with its attack and not getting too close for his real claws to attack him. Any other person would have been knocked away from the impact.

After a few more cycles of attack, Li felt he was ready.

He clenched the dagger tightly, Qi Yuan raised his eyebrow, noticing the change in Li.

'When he charges forward, I'll move forward and stab his neck'

'back..'

'right...'

'left...'

'right...'

'forward!'

Li moved forward, his eyes opened, while his hand swung to the wolf, who appeared right in front of him shocked at Li's sudden movements.

"I win!" The dagger penetrated the lightning wolf's neck, blood spewed out from the terrified wolf, as Li drove the dagger further in and using the momentum to drive the wolf onto the ground, stuck from the dagger impaled in its neck.

"AWOOOO" The shrieking cry of pain sounded across the entire forest.
