Kapitel 3: Chapter 1 (Shifting to a new place)
Mia POV:
I am currently sitting on my bed viewing my room for the last time, from tomorrow it won't be my room to call anymore because now in a few hours we will be settling in a new place. The thought of just going to a new place sent a pang of hurt in my chest, I am not ready to leave this place, my whole childhood was spent in this room but I know it is hard for both of us to live here especially after my father's death. Every corner of my room is decorated by his graceful hands. It was a mournful moment of our life when we heard his death news, our heart shattered and I know it can never be mended. My mum completely broke down and I control my emotions and helped her heal. It's been half of the month and now she is slowly returning towards a normal life. Yesterday, she pour her heart out by describing the decorations dad did in the dining room, I cried along with her and we decided to finally leave this place in order to heal.
Sweetie!! "Are you done packing?" I heard my mum voice from downstairs.
''Yeah mum...Just coming." I replied back.
"Hurry sweetie." she said and I hurriedly rush downstairs after peeking at my room lastly.
Mum was loading the suitcases on the truck when I reached towards her.
"Give me that sweetie.. I will put it for you." She said with a smile.
"Here mum.." I said while handing her my stuff.
"Mum, Do you need a hand?" I asked as I saw her managing the space for my stuff.
"No sweetie.. I will manage this. You should go and bring the keys from the kitchen counter." She said pointing towards the kitchen area.
" Ok mum.. I will get that." I nod my head with a sad smile and ambled inside.
I went towards the kitchen which was furnished beautifully and my mind wander towards my father but I took a control of my emotions and hurriedly grabbed the keys from the counter and rush outside, where my mum was leaning by the truck and was engrossed in her own world while gazing at our house. I noticed the tears on her cheeks which she wiped hurriedly as she saw me. I sauntered towards her and embrace her in a warm hug which reciprocate tightly.
"It's ok mum. Everything will be alright." I said to which she pats my back ,break the gesture and kissed me on the forehead.
"I know sweetie." she said smilingly to which I smiled back.
"Now let's get to the car." She said to which I nod with a smile.
After a while we were on the roads, the music was blasting on the drive, while me and mum were cracking jokes from time to time to lighten our moods and after about 2 to 3 hours car ride we were standing in front of our new home in the new town.
"Let me help you mum." I said as I saw my mum unloading our bags.
I took out my luggage while mum takes her and we head inside. The house was quite different from our previous ones yet small but it was cosy. At the front was a kitchen which is mainly consist of only white color. it was an open kitchen beside it was a small lounge which flooring is brown in color and there were two couches which is beautifully designed and in grey color. On the walls was hanged an LED which is maybe of 45 inches I guess. Mum plopped on one of the couch tiredly.
"How is it sweetie? Beautiful...isn't it?" She asked while examining the house.
"Yeah.. it's cool mum." I said with appreciation laced in my tone to which she nod with a smile.
"Sweetie.. Go to your room and freshen up till I prepare the dinner." She said.
"OK mum.."I said and ambled upstairs towards my room.
I twist the door knob and entered it, the room was furnished and cosy. In between was a large bed covered with blue sheets, the walls are painted white in color at the front of the bed was a small vanity, beside it was a closed at the front wall was a big window covered with delicate sheer curtains. I ambled towards it and push the curtain apart and open the two glass door. A cold wave of wind hit my face making me shiver slightly. I stuffed my hands in my black hoodie side pockets and examine my surrounding.
At the front of our house was a large forest covered with quite tall trees.
"I wonder where will this forest end." I thought curiously with a smile. "I am surely gonna visit it soon."
After examining my surrounding for a minute, I closed the window and pulled back the curtains. I sauntered towards my closet, plopped my bag on the bed and started unpacking my stuff and managing my closet.
Finally after organizing my closet, I went to take a shower. I stripped my clothes and fill the warm water in the tub. The feeling of warm water touching my skin gives me a relaxing feeling making my muscles loosen instantly. After taking a good 30 minutes bath, I change into a grey sweatshirt and blue jeans just when I heard my mum's voice from downstairs. It was a dinner call. I rush downstairs as my stomach is already starving and grumbling, making me slightly annoyed already.
Mum was placing the plates on the table when I ambled towards her.
"Oh mum... It looks mouth watering." I said as I saw my favourite cheesy sauce pasta on the table.
"Well I am an excellent cook. Aren't I?!" She said with a grin.
"Yes.. yes you are." I said smilingly while taking a seat across from her.
she smiled at my answer and started filling my plate.
"Have it..before it turn cold sweetie." she said and with that I dug in.
"Do you like your new room?!" She asked after a while.
"Yeah.. it's great." I said with appreciation laced in my tone.
"I am glad you like it sweetie." She said with a smile to which I smile in return.
"Tomorrow is your first day of high school. Are you prepare for it?" She asked while eying me.
I have never been in school before. My parents from the start home schooled as I am their only child so they taught me everything on their own but recently my mum told me that I have to join a high school.
I have seen many movies of high schools and to be honest none of it was of my liking. All they show is students partying out, fighting each other, having relationships or bullying an innocent ones and clearly I am not interested in any of those. Let's just say, I am not a people person.
"Mum.. you know I don't want to go there." I said in a sad tone.
"Mia.. we have already discuss this, didn't we?" She asked while eyeing me.
"Yeah mum.." I said nonchalantly while focussing on my food.
"Look sweetie, I know it must be difficult for you as you have been homeschooled for so long, but now I want you to go out, study and make friends. A change is good sweetie." She explains in a polite way.
"Alright mum.. I will go." I said while trying my hardest to hide my disappointment in my words.
"That's like my baby".. she said with a broad smile to which I smile in return.
